4 out of 5 eggsMajor Improvement over mechanical drive

Pros: Very lightweight, came with current firmware, hits 250Mb/s transfer rate even on my '08 Acer with SATA-2 port.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Fairly easy to install, cloning existing drive is harder since one is usually moving from a larger mechanical drive. If placing in a laptop, look for 2nd drive adapters that replace DVDR's. They are usually fairly inexpensive and allows one to keep their HDD in a single drive bay laptop.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Its mostly black so it looks good in any cases.
comes with a thin bracket to make it as little thicker if you want it to be.

Cons: Doesn't come with a SATA cable. Didn't need it but it would have been nice.

5 out of 5 eggsFast, good deal

Pros: Best cheap SSD, cloned the 500gb HDD from my new Inspiron 11, dropped boot times into Win8.1 from about 40 seconds from button press, to around 10 seconds!

Cons: none for the price

Other Thoughts: Tested on Crystal Disk Mark, benched right around rated speeds for sequential data, 4K speeds were more than adequate.

5 out of 5 eggsFaster than my EVO!!

Pros: mid-size capacity
very good price

Cons: wish it came with a mounting plate. guess most of them don't.

Other Thoughts: I have a EVO 840 120GB SSD in my rig at work. it's a core i7 with 8GB of RAM. I'd say this Sandisk unit is faster. that's probably because my EVO is only 3GBs/sec and this unit is 6GBs/sec.

I would definitely buy another one of these. installed Win 8.1 with no problems and it is incredibly fast. great purchase!!

5 out of 5 eggsPlug n Play

Pros: Cost 60 bucks for it with 3 day shipping!
Boot times dropped
Load time dropped
7.9 on Windows Experience test

Cons: Doesnt come with a sata cable. It is faster than a magnetic drive but not quite as other solid states for the price this is a must have for 60 bucks.

Other Thoughts: If you can get it for 60-65 just get one if you don't already have one.

5 out of 5 eggsSSD + Android = Awsome

Pros: Put this SSD on my X61 and I am running android. Is awesome, fast and I don't have to worry about bumping it and destroying a traditional HDD. Only moving part is the fan, now to do something about that.

Cons: A traditional HDD uses less than 1 amp to work.
On the SSD it says 1.6 amps, so your battery life might not be that good if you use this in a laptop. but for the price still good product.

Other Thoughts: Its like a use drive but better.

4 out of 5 eggs$60 Gem

Pros: For the $60 sale price, hard to go wrong (unless you get a dud, and even then it's probably still worth it including the RMA).

Cons: Toolkit software thinks I need a firmware upgrade, even though it shipped with the latest.

SanDisk support is a bit lacking: Some of the primary online documents are out of date, and don't always provide written instructions (if you can make a professional how-to video, you can write a few lines of English which make text searches easier). Made it rather frustrating trying to figure out the firmware situation, especially since the firmware update requires a reboot to their custom bootdisk (made by the toolkit), only to go "ERROR" with no explanation or code, and they don't use a standard version number scheme.

Drive is all-plastic construction, which feels rather flimsy. A bit disconcerting when it bends during installation into a 2.5" aluminum mount.

Other Thoughts: Using as a games drive. Beats the tar out of my RAID-1 Seagates Barracudas.

Packaging isn't sealed, you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between a fresh one and an open-box. - no tear-open static-proof bag for this drive.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Value King

Pros: I spent quite a bit of time hunting for a deal on a 128GB SSD to use as a boot drive in my HTPC - nothing special needed, but I knew an SSD would be a huge improvement over the 1TB Green that I've been booting from for the last few years. At the current price, this just can't be beaten.

Sure enough, the performance of this drive - the snappiness, the speed of installation and loading of programs - is very, very noticeable when coming from a platter drive.

The point of this SSD is that it *is* an SSD - It's not the latest and greatest, but for the money, you won't find more performance for dollar from a storage device. If you are still using a platter drive and you have sufficient money to buy this drive in your bank account, then I can't fathom why you haven't bought it yet.

Cons: As mentioned previously, this is not the fastest SSD in the bunch. However, for that incremental increase in read and write speeds, you may easily pay double the price of this drive.

Reliability has yet to be seen on these drives - Solid state is inherently pretty reliable, so I have no particular worry here. I perform regular backups of my important information, as everyone should, and this SSD resides in my HTPC anyway - I'll happily re-install Windows and download VLC again if need be.

Other Thoughts: The SSD is like a drug. Once you use a computer that boots from one, everything else is archaic. SSD speed becomes normal, and everything else slow. This is, however, one drug that I advocate for - the only downside is the expense of the technology, and that is why I'm glad this drive exists - SSD performance is now attainable by the masses.
