With blazing-fast speed and loads of impressive features in a 2.5" form factor, the SanDisk X110 SSD brings life to your Ultrabook, laptop and desktop. It's based on the cutting-edge 19nm NAND flash technology and SATA 6Gbps standard. It utilizes sophisticated tiered caching technology that includes three storage layers: volatile cache (DDR DRAM), nCache (a non-volatile flash write cache), and mass storage (MLC NAND flash). These ensure exceptionally smooth operation, responsive multitasking, and minimized writes resulting in improved drive endurance. The low power consumption, which is inherent in SSD technology, is further reduced with low power mode, for extended battery life desired by mobile users. Plus, this model also supports TRIM feature for consistent performance over time. 7mm in height grants compatibility with various newer ultra slim devices.

  • newegg Tiered Caching Technology Offers Improved Responsiveness From streaming video to multitasking, the needs of business and personal users are placing ever-increasing demands on today's hard drives. The X110 SSDs address these needs by implementing a tiered caching technology — a hierarchical three storage layer architecture that directs data pattern streams to one of the three most suitable layers: volatile cache (DDR DRAM), nCache (a non-volatile flash write cache), or mass storage (MLC NAND flash). The data pattern streams are then monitored and rearranged by an exclusive innovative multi-streaming feature that reduces fragmentation and improves locality of data. This enables fast response, no stuttering, better multitasking capabilities, and significantly improves the drive’s long-term data endurance, ensuring an enhanced user experience.
  • newegg Built-In Reliability combined with Thermal Throttling A patrol read error prevention mechanism checks and corrects errors in the background with zero performance impact. Advanced NAND recovery techniques and powerful error detection and correction capabilities ensure reliable data reads under punishing conditions. The SanDisk X110 SSD uses write-minimization technology, which eliminates unnecessary write operations to increase endurance and performance, and supports thermal throttling to prevent overheating.
  • newegg TRIM support This model features support for the Windows 7 TRIM command. This allows the SSD to store only the data they need and perform memory optimization to ensure the fastest possible write speeds.
  • newegg Lower Power Consumption The SanDisk X110 SSD employs a low power architecture that significantly reduces the power consumed by the device in reduced power modes, allowing users to extend the charge cycles of the battery - a feature that is highly desired by mobile users.

4 out of 5 eggsGood value

Pros: Value SSD, decent read and write speeds.

Cons: Slightly older tech.

Other Thoughts: This is a value SSD. Average speeds. In general faster speeds are at 256gb and above for a SSD. I like this drive. Its priced well. I partitioned it with gParted and made a NTFS and EXT 4 partitions to run Windows 10 and Linux on a older Lenovo T420. Originally it was in a Lenovo T60. If you find this drive on sale under $50.00 buy it. Otherwise grab the next size up the 256gb size.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat SSD for the price

Pros: 128GB SSD is suitable for booting the OS. I needed it to replace my Linux server's HD. Shrinking the partition and cloning the drive was easy (with the right tools), and in no time my server was back up and running. My friend who was in the hard drive business told me that industrial strength just means it's been tested longer and is less likely to fail.

Cons: SSD prices are still considerably higher than magnetic storage drives, but the lifespan of the drive and reduced load should help balance that out, along with reduced worry of drive failure for my server.

Other Thoughts: After cloning the server, I moved most of the filesystem to my RAID 10 array and used symlinks to those folders. I moved home, opt, srv, usr, var, and my swap files to the RAID array. /tmp is already mounted in tmpfs (RAM), so it doesn't write to the drive. This means the server has many fewer writes to the root filesystem, and the SSD should last a very long time. My root filesystem is now under 1 GB. As parts of the SSD invariably fail, other unused chunks should take their place. Hopefully this means my SSD will outlive my server.
