5 out of 5 eggsMemory Upgrade!

Pros: Great price and Value

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I used this RAM to upgrade an old Dell Inspiron 5100. No complaints yet, this should get me by for 1 maybe 2 more years before I need to upgrade to a whole new machine. Thanks NewEgg!

4 out of 5 eggsIncompatible with Compaq 2195US

Pros: Reasonably priced.
Kingston name and reputation.

Cons: Compaq Presario 2195US would not boot with either, or both, of these 2 SODIMMs installed.
Laptop went back to booting normally once the original RAM was reinstalled.

Other Thoughts: I have no way to test to see if these were defective in any way, but since the laptop would not boot with either one installed singly, I highly doubt both are defective.
More likely the laptop just didn't "like" them, even though they are labeled with the same specs as the OEM RAM, just a higher MB count. (512MB vs. 256MB, which the manufacturers specs say the laptop can accomodate.)
The HDD had failed in this unit so I was trying to breathe new life into it by upgrading the RAM at the same time, but actually the newer, faster HDD helped a lot anyhow, even without the additional RAM. The laptop is only used to run my VOIP phone system, so blazing fast speed is not a huge priority.
Only -1 Egg for this incompatibility issue, just to be sure.

1 out of 5 eggsModules miss labeled

Pros: None

Cons: May have a good review, but when the manufacturer mislable the modules then I could only give the review a minus egg.

Other Thoughts: Sent two of these modules to europe for my sister's HP Privilion laptop and found out that one module is only 250MB instead of 512MB.

5 out of 5 eggsKingston ValueRAM

Pros: Cheap, much needed upgrade for my lappy, dropped right in, fired right up, no problems so far.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: At the price, wish my lappy would hold more of this stuff, it was given to me, kinda old, so cant really complain much about free.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine in an old machine

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: It wasn't free.

Other Thoughts: I doubled the memory of an old Thinkpad T-40 that my wife uses for email and web surfing. The memory works fine in this application.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well with Compaq Persario 2100!

Pros: Makes computer really fast! Works great! Did not have any broken Ram! Really easy to install! :)

Cons: No Cons.

Other Thoughts: It helps to have a knowledge of understanding Ram and how it works before ordering it. I am doing an AA in Information technology and am learning a lot, so it was a plus for me when I was buying Ram for my Dad's laptop.
