5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast! Works great.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I don't know what the other users were saying about a delay after inserting a card. If there is a delay at all, it is less than a second so there's nothing to complain about.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine...New 20-pin motherboard connector

Pros: ATTENTION: the version I received came with a reasonably sized 20-pin motherboard connector. Does not come with the bulky adapter that many complain about. This was a huge win for me, as the adapter would have definitely caused me problems with my ASUS P8Z77-V. It works fine. Detects cards quickly upon insertion. USB 3.0 port functions well.

Cons: The included cord is unnecessarily thick and heavy. This is the type of cord that should be used outside of your case...not inside. Makes cable management tough.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes what is says it does

Pros: Other folks didn't seem to like the looks of the reader but personally I appreciate the simple black and white unassuming look. Fits perfectly flush to front of case, soft blue LED lights up only when being used. Speeds are what they are limited only by media inserted. I have a 32GB extreme pro SDHC for my camera and it unloads the entire card before I have time to check the weather.

Cons: The USB cables are so thick and heavy just the weight of them is enough to dislodge the Ginormous 20 pin female adapter from the MB. The adapter is re donkulously huge, no need for that. AFT probably utilized universal cords and header adapters to keep the costs down, but I would have gladly paid an extra ten bucks or more for a more streamlined and integrated product.

Other Thoughts: Before I connected this reader to my rig Win 7 would practically blink on, spinning globes never even coming together before my desktop popped up. Now since I connected the card reader I get a consistent 23 second delay. No errors, and everything works great, but WHY?

5 out of 5 eggsyep it works

Pros: works as advertised. looks nice in the case. easy to install. a little on the expensive side but that is relative isn't it. sure there are external card readers available but this works very well and is built in. that is the reason i bought it and i suspect the build quality will stand the test of time.

Cons: if i could say anything bad about it all i can think of is it is not an exact color match with my case. very close though so five stars anyway.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works - new 20-pin MB connector

Pros: It works. No problems so far. I was concerned about the 20-pin MB adapter that others have mentioned/complained about. I was happy to see that the version that I received did not have this adapter, but was a direct 20-pin connector of reasonable size. Good for me, but those expecting two USB male connectors should be aware.

Cons: The USB cables are a bit too thick for my liking as they do not bend easily for good cable management. The graphics on the front panel are ugly, but not offensively so.

Other Thoughts: It takes a couple of seconds before an inserted card is recognized by the system, but it really isn't all that bad. Transfer rates are blazing and just what I had hoped for.

4 out of 5 eggsSlow to read cards, bulky MB Connector

Pros: - It works with all three card types I have tried in it
- Fits 5.25" bay - no 3.5" to 5.25" adapter needed

Cons: - Bulky Motherboard connector blocks adjacent USB 3.0 port. I had to disconnect my front panel USB 3.0 ports to install this.
- Have to get a 20-pin female to 20-pin male USB 3.0 extender to be able to use both USB 3.0 MB ports
- Takes several seconds to recognize cards. My USB 2.0 AFT Pro-35U recognizes cards instantly

Other Thoughts: Poor MB interface design and slow card read is enough to knock off at least one egg in my opinion. I almost deducted two. I expected it to be as friendly as my AFT Pro-35U and it is not.

5 out of 5 eggsGood reader

Pros: Works well, no issues.

Cons: A little slow when you first plug in the card, maybe a 1 second lag....

Other Thoughts: You need to go to the companies website and follow their instruction to install this card. If you do that it will work well.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Functional and seats well without being flimsy.

Cons: The connector is a joke. Simple design but to bulky to fit in a cramped space on a motherboard. Also like someone else posted.. lousy job with the txt/graphics on the face.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: Fast
Well built
Nice clean look

Cons: USB 3.0 adapter
initializing speeds

Other Thoughts: As many people complain the usb 3.0 adapter on this thing is too wide for many motherboards. If you plan on getting this just look and see if you have room if you don't then just get on of the adapters that have the 20 pin header that had two extension cables coming out of it. They are like 5 bucks so just look ahead of time, the quality of this card reader is worth the extra 5 bucks.

It takes a little longer to initially register a card, I have found this to be common with many usb 3.0 devices and your motherboard has much to play with this as well. The transfer speeds more than make up for this though. If you are transferring large amounts of data like HD videos you have shot then you will save tons of time with this. If you don't transfer anything more than a few MB at a time then usb 2.0 version will be more than enough.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: I love the speed of USB 3.0! I can transfer an entire 8gb thumb drive to my SSD drive in less than 3 minutes! Everything else works as it should. Aesthetically, it blends into my tower nicely.

Cons: None
