1 out of 5 eggsRedefines the word "Slow"

Pros: It's was cheap in the Big Box store - bought it on an impulse.

Cons: Never be impulsive on purchases.

Other Thoughts: Seriously, you can copy files faster with a pencil and piece of paper. No. Seriously.
If you enjoy watching grass grow and paint dry, this is the flash drive for you.

1 out of 5 eggsLousy, bulky, poorly made and slow

Pros: Relatively sturdy which is the only good thing.

Cons: Poorly made, hard to open and hard to close, nonsensical cap.
Bulky meaning it takes two slots when put in one thus nothing esle can go next to it.
Overwhelmingly slow, for example I moved the same large directory with many files to this and to Staples Relay drive (which is I believe Lexar) and Staples drive has takes the files three times faster.

Imagine you need to go to work in the mornign while waiting backup to this snail of a drive.

2 out of 5 eggsSlooooooowwww

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Slow
Slow
SLOW

Other Thoughts: It works, but it's incredibly slow. On my MacBook (with an SSD!) it averages about 500Kbytes/sec write speed (yes, less than 1Mbyte/sec). Basically you will wait ALL DAY for this drive to do anything.

1 out of 5 eggsAwful

Pros: None

Cons: Abject failure in less than 6 months of use. Never bothered to see how the drive was formatted because I figured it was a non-issue based on how expensive pny products are as compared to other flash drives. Should've done my homework. Disk started exhibiting fragmentation errors and was totally dead in the span of a one-hour time frame. Luckily I had my SanDisk (formatted as exFAT) nearby and was able to save most of the important data, but still wound up with several corrupted (work-related) files. Again, thankfully those were backed up elsewhere. Not a business solution, not any kind of a solution. Total joke. Crossing my fingers that the 64gb version I purchased at the same time isn't as terrible.

Other Thoughts: Seriously, stay away.

2 out of 5 eggsIt works, but be warned...

Pros: It's compact and decent capacity for the price.

Cons: The unit collapsed on itself and almost lost vital data.

Other Thoughts: Almost had a panic attack when I plugged it in and three computers didn't recognized it. I literally had to pull it apart in order to get to the circuit board. Fortunately, I was able to plug it in and pull all data from it. Casing is now mangled. Going to purchase from another company another 32 or 64GB unit. It's a shame because PNY products I haven't had too many difficulties with over the years... oh well.

3 out of 5 eggsSlow

Pros: Got it for a great price

Cons: Slower than my 5200rpm external harddrive.

Other Thoughts: I'm returning because i seriously thought it would be faster.

3 out of 5 eggsOK, but not a super performer.

Pros: massive storage.
low price.
pny, a name we know.
Survived a washer/dryer cycle without issue(not recommended)

Cons: not as fast as drives only slightly more expensive.
sliding sleeve can pop off, if you loan it out too often, or it gets run through the laundry.

Other Thoughts: "goat" wrote about back-up times.
They did a "full backup" in 25 min.
that's close enough to 15MBps to count.

N/A's review should be downplayed.
The speed numbers they got were usb 1.1 range.
probably plugged a mouse into the hub.

It DOES work as readyboost, at least on the 2 laptops I tried it on.

It won't win any speed races, and high def video shouldn't be streamed from it, but for general storage, and file transfers, it'll work.

1 out of 5 eggsPNY Attaché 32GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive

Pros: More space, reasonable price.Newegg service of processing order - great.

Cons: transfer rate is really really slow, 1.2 KB/sec on server 08, 4-6KB/sec on windows 7.

Other Thoughts: Not work the expense. UBS 2.0, I copied data extremely slow, ram over night for 17 gb. I though it was a illusion, formated , copied it again same results 4-8 KB / sec. 20 hours for 17 gb. I expected better from PNY.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This little fellow has just enough space to do a full backup of my new laptop (Core i5 rocks) if I exclude nonessential stuff. It is more convenient than backing up to 7 DVD's or 4 dual layer DVD's, and reduces clutter over time. It can be stored easily ( I keep it in a pill vial with a label for contents)

Cons: It's not going to win any speed contests. The full backup took about 25 minutes. Maybe this is partly Windows 7. The thumb drive formats quick enough

Cannot be used for ReadyBoost, not fast enough per laptop

Other Thoughts: For a few $$ more, a 500Gb portable hard drive would hold more and back up quicker, but is not as easy to store and can be broken by clumsy handling.
