1 out of 5 eggsFailed within a couple months

Pros: Boosted system performance (temporarily)

Cons: Failed within a few months.
Warranty requires original receipt.
Warranty limited to original owner.

Other Thoughts: My laptop ran well for a little while. Then within a couple month I got BSOD reboots randomly. I didn't figure out it was the memory until after I started reinstalling Windows 7 and the installation kept failing. MemTest shows one of the sticks is riddled with errors. Given the warranty limitation and this product failure, I won't be buying any more PNY products - not worth any money savings.

1 out of 5 eggsWas working well but...

Pros: Noticeable speed increase until they died within a year of use.

Cons: BSOD caused by memory stick failure, all in all very disappointed by the lack of longevity in the product, and now I have to go through the hassle of calling PNY and getting the sticks replaced.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone after the trouble I have been put through with it. While it may work for a little while, there seems to be an issue with quality control at PNY. I'm certainly not the only one posting on here about issues with dead sticks of this RAM.

1 out of 5 eggsbeware of PNY memory

Pros: if they functioned in my Acer 5740 laptop w/o BSOD's with regularity there might be some

Cons: BSOD'd my pc w/o fail. And PNY was gracious enough to RMA me a second matched pair which did the same exact thing. After updatign BIOS, etc., I still got same results.
Once I put the OEM memory back in the pc ran stable.

Other Thoughts: purchased from a bigbox store due to cheep price. Giant mistake. If you believe you might be saving 20~30 bucks by buying the so-called value item- it could be a sure way to headache, troubles, $ in the garbage and time killed.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy this!

Pros: none specific

Cons: One card was broken but only produced system crashes when the computer was on full load, so I noticed it after a few days. Newegg referred me to the manufacturer for replacement and PNY demands that both memory cards get send in on your own costs: Lots of hassle and no gain to this date.

1 out of 5 eggs"LIFETIME" Warranty good only if you keep the original receipt?

Pros: worked for a year

Cons: Failing after a year started as blue screens and not recognized short time after.
Without receipt = no warranty
Got it as a gift = no warranty
Oem = no warranty
Purchase with gift card and misplace receipt = no warranty
House burn down with all paperwork = no warranty
Not good at keeping records =- no warranty

I have been in contact with PNY and can you tell they have told me without the receipt they can do nothing for me?
COMPLETE WAISTE of the word warranty.
and yes there support people get smart with you and quote other companies warranties and state see they do they same thing!
WAY TO STAND OUT!
Why even have a lifetime warranty, just call it a "prove it" warranty?

Other Thoughts: don't buy PNY, Don't buy PNY. has a ring to it

1 out of 5 eggsBad Module, Again

Pros: PNY finally sent new memory to replace the failed memory.

Cons: Started the RMA in September, it's now Nov 12 - and I'm just receiving the replacement.

One of the two DIMMs of the replacement memory received today is bad. Computer will boot with one, but not the other.

Other Thoughts: I will NEVER purchase ANYTHING from PNY again.

2 out of 5 eggsRam went bad twice

Pros: When it works its fine for the money

Cons: The ram has gone bad on me 2 times already. The first time was 3 months after the purchase. Now after a year and a half of ownership the ram has gone out again. I am lucky I kept my OEM ram otherwise I would be without a computer. To add to the problems PNY's RMA site is down and wont let me submit a request for a replacement.

Other Thoughts: When I purchased my ram it was the cheapest option by a mile, but at the current price there are better options.

1 out of 5 eggsCheap and defective

Pros: It worked with minimal flaws for about 8-9 days. Definite increase from the 2GB I had in the laptop.

Cons: After that had unexpected errors... then blue screens like crazy. Reinstalled old memory and everything was fine. Hate to say it but never again will I purchase PNY.

Other Thoughts: Bought this (not from the egg) 'cause it was cheap and in-store and I could install it that day, of course. When it worked everything was great but like they say, "You get what you pay for." I'm not referring to the price in this case, but rather the manufacturer. So I ordered some Gskill DDR3 2 x 4GB 1333 today that ended up being cheaper... GO EGG. Bottom line is, buy from a manufacturer that is well known and reliable. Sizuck a fizat one PNY.
