1 out of 5 eggsTwo (BOTH) Units NON Working Upon Arrival

This review is from: PNY 128GB Turbo USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD128TBOP-GE

Pros: There are NO pros. (read why in the CON section)

Cons: They came free with a purchase of another product.

NEITHER ONE OF THEM WORK(ed) - one of them work(ed) in ONE computer just ONE time, then failed too. (I can no longer read it) and the other one never worked out of the box. DOA.

Being a 'free-bee' - I've just not wanted to fuss with RMA, etc... they must've purchased a bad batch or THAT's why they were free. (Half of 'em worked, if that many - what are the odds I'd get TWO units in TWO separate packages, that do not work.)

Other Thoughts: If you pay for these (mine came as a 'bonus' inside another purchased product from Newegg) check them IMMEDIATELY upon arrival. I had TWO of them, BOTH DOA.

1 out of 5 eggs0 out of 2 have worked

This review is from: PNY 128GB Turbo USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD128TBOP-GE

Pros: Speedy, when it worked.

Cons: I was able to use this product briefly on two occasions. I copied some large video files for transfer. It was very fast. However, both drives stopped working after 2 uses. They would not mount or show up on a Windows or Mac computer.

1 out of 5 eggsDied Fast

This review is from: PNY 128GB Turbo USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD128TBOP-GE

Pros: None. Plugged in a couple time. Never was able to transfer a file.

Cons: Basicly DOA. From other reviews it looks to be a waste of time to even try and RMA it.

1 out of 5 eggsunreliable

This review is from: PNY 128GB Turbo USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD128TBOP-GE

Pros: Low price

drive feels physically sturdy

Cons: Purchased drive to back up a large amount of scanned documents. Worked great while I was scanning documents. After a couple months of non use I was going to backup some documents and drive is recognized as a usb device by computer but displayed as "no media". I cannot format the drive and have no access to files

Other Thoughts: wouldn't purchase again

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

This review is from: PNY 128GB Turbo USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD128TBOP-GE

Pros: You mean... if it ever worked?
Plug it in, make file transfer.... eject.
plug it in..... nothing. Go through all troubleshooting, from uninstalling to running troubleshooter.
NOTHING.

RMA.

Plug second one in, make transfer, unplug it.
plug into ps4. Cannot use device.
Plug into PC, Shows as PNY device.... with no space, cannot access.
WTMF.

In the trash? Nah, Ill keep hold of it, tape it to my WALL OF FAIL.

Its a reminder to never trust PNY with important files.

Cons: Never worked. Two different brand new drives (first was RMA'd)
Second, I said, FORGET IT.

NOT WORTH MY TIME.

Other Thoughts: Ive been in the IT industry for quite a while. PNY used to be a good brand... (Y2K)

Evidently they have slipped. I wont be buying PNY any more. I have had a lot of PNY devices, but after two in a row, then reading all the forums about the SAME ISSUE, with PNY not making any moves to fix?

1 out of 5 eggs2 months later - Complete Failure

This review is from: PNY 128GB Turbo USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD128TBOP-GE

Pros: While it worked, it was indescribably speedy.

Cons: 1 received TWO of these free with an order of SSD. Having always been well treated by PNY gear, I was happy to receive them. I gifted one to a friend, and put mine to use.

His died within two days.

Mine was fast and functional for almost 2 months. It has been lightly used, the files on it mostly used for reference, and only a few files were added or removed on an irregular basis, including this morning. When I arrived at work, plugged it in to the machine it was worked in reliably previously, there was the USB notification sound on the computer - but rather than a functional drive, it appeared in the folder list as an unnamed drive. The Windows OS identified it as having 0 space, and no disk in the drive, and could not be formatted. Disk repair and recovery software does not see it. It was then plugged into 6 different computers, 4 with varying Windows OS, one Mac, and one Linux machine that refused to even acknowledge it's presence at all. As personal data files are located on the device, despite it's failure, it will have to be destroyed as there are no methods to revive it, nor insure that the data has been wiped.

Given the stability and ruggedness of every other PNY flash drive I've ever owned (and still own in several cases, years later, fully functional, if small, in terms of storage needs), this is a impressive level of failure. Not just one, but two drives.

If there is a saving grace, I didn't actually pay for it: it was a free bonus on an otherwise fabulous Newegg deal on a different product.

Other Thoughts: When my friend's failed shortly after receipt, but mine worked fine, we chalked it up to the occasional defective product. It does happen every so often. Now that both have died within two months of receipt one wonders if a major defect in a production batch is the cause. It's unlikely that we'll know, but with this experience, this model is certainly not one I will trust, even if I were to receive a replacement.

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: PNY 128GB Turbo USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD128TBOP-GE

Pros: bad product didn't last for couple time of use.

Cons: try to contact them to do RMA, but get no answer neither the web or phone support

Other Thoughts: PNY is disappointed me a lot for a simple item like this.
