5 out of 5 eggsGreat drive!

Pros: Daily use for over a year and has never dropped a bit or skipped a beat! Great product!

Cons: Case is a little fat which can interfere with close set USB ports but rarely an issue.

4 out of 5 eggsHas been good to me

Pros: After almost a year, it still has 150 MB/sec write speeds and 180 MB/sec read speeds.

Cons: There were around 10 incidents where the flash drive unmounted and had to be reinserted.

Other Thoughts: I've been using this everyday for 11 months, plugged in constantly. The only problem I had was having to reinsert it a few times.

This model seems discontinued(?) but was worth the $120. Can't find another 256 GB model for the same price and speed. It is much faster than the 64 GB model I got at the same time.

1 out of 5 eggsSLOWER than old USB2.0 drives!

Pros: I'm not sure what the pros are here. It worked, out of the box, I guess? Not DOA?

Cons: "It reads as fast as 185MBps and writes up to 135MBps for lighting-fast transfer of large files" - this is outright false. I just plugged a brand-new one into my USB3.0 hub, and according to Device Manager, it is showing as a child device of "USB3.0 Hub", so it should be in USB3.0 mode, and I'm getting only as high as 16MB/sec, copying a 4GB ISO file from my NAS to the flash drive. (I am gigabit wired, and can copy files from my NAS to my internal SSD at 89MB/sec over my network. So the NAS and the network is not the bottleneck.)

Other Thoughts: Seems like a production bait & switch on these drives? I've heard other complaints about more recently-mfged units running really slowly for writing too.

1 out of 5 eggsQuestionable peformance, avoid

Pros: Large 256gb
Peak performance numbers look good
A name that we figured we could trust

Cons: -VERY inconsistent speeds
-Support questionable

Other Thoughts: The 128gb version if this drive is great. The 256gb version suffers from performance issues. On transferring a large file (5-15gb), I can watch the copy progress FREEZE for a few seconds while copying over. Never saw this problem with the 128gb version. Very inconsistent speeds, I love the 128gb drive but, think this 256gb is very low quality.

If your looking for a 256gb drive, look elsewhere but, if you can life with 128gb, the Turbo drive is worth your time.

2 out of 5 eggsUpdate: 2nd day of use ...

Pros: 1st day: Read/Write Speeds as per advertised (when drive is empty).

Cheap 256GB drive.

Cons: 2nd day: With drive 65% filled, Read speed is still fast but dropped to 150MB/s. Write speed has dropped below USB2 speed ... 18MB/s! Simply unbelievable!!!

Other Thoughts: Will await Sandisk Extreme Pro to be available in 256GB in 2015/6 and will dump PNY. Guess its a case of "You pay peanuts, you get monkey". Anyway, this product fits my needs exactly ... as a stop-gap, but useable large thumb drive prior to getting a 256GB Extreme Pro in future.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap & Fast!

Pros: Extremely cheap!
Extremely fast!
Sliding collar, capless design with integrated loop makes it easy to attach to key chains, backpacks and etc.
Twice the capacity of Sandisk Extreme Pro (not as fast, but fast enough).

USB 3 CrystalDiskMark 2GB Seq. Read: 194.8 MB/s
USB 3 CrystalDiskMark 2GB Seq. Write: 142.5 MB/s

Cons: Only 1-year warranty.

Other Thoughts: I'm a Happy owner! :)

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Best speeds I have ever seen on a USB 3 flash drive. It will play HD video files glitch free. Even while copying files with a video playing there is only an occasional tiling. If this drive ever goes on sale again for what I paid I will buy another one.

Cons: Absolutely none.

Other Thoughts: When I first tried this drive I plugged it into the USB 3 on the front of the case. It performed so badly I called for a RMA. When I switched it to a rear connection it worked great. I don't why this is but I have to wonder if so many reviews complaining about the speed could have had the same situation.

3 out of 5 eggsSlow, so USB 3.0 is irrelevant

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Very slow, especially with small files. Even with large media files, writes max out at 38 mb/s. With small files (Word, Excel, etc), prepare to wait until the cows come home. (This is with the drive reformatted as exFAT.)

Other Thoughts: I was hoping for fast speeds for backups, but it simply isn't going to happen with this flash drive.

1 out of 5 eggsVery Short Warranty

Pros: Fast USB 3.0

Cons: Short warranty, only one year.

Other Thoughts: TEAM models have a life-time warranty.
Enough said.
