2 out of 5 eggsHas some issues

Pros: very fast
very quiet
comparatively cheap
Really everything they say about solid states + a great price.

Cons: Got a new computer about a month ago with this and a 1TB drive as well. Shipped with the SSD as the boot drive. The RiDATA 64GB died after about 3 weeks, so I had to reinstall my OS on a new drive. Got a replacement under the company's warranty, so hopefully the new one will be better (but certainly won't be putting my OS on it).

Other Thoughts: It was amazing while it lasted, but you probably shouldn't use it as your boot drive. Better left for gaming unless you enjoy reinstalling your OS.

2 out of 5 eggsI should have known.

Pros: Well what can I say, it's a 64 Gig. Solid State Hard Drive.

It's just as fast as they claim...

Cons: Installed this as my boot drive to test out at home. At work we bought the 64 gig Intel drive:

Intel X25-E Extreme SSDSA2SH064G1 2.5" 64GB SATA II SLC Internal Solid state disk (SSD) - Retail
# Sequential Access - Read: up to 250 MB/s
# Sequential Access - Write: up to 170 MB/s
(The Intel drive is great for large database work)

This RiDATA drive is fast but has the hiccup problem found in many of the other SSD drives. It typically happens during software installation or unzipping files but will happen during any hard drive access really. It'll give a good 10-20 seconds of no reading or writing and then operate normally again. Anyway it happens alot, and I'll be waiting to buy a better one from Intel when the price drops.

I can't recommend this drive due to this annoyance. 2 stars for a fairly cheep SSD that performs half the time and doesn't do anything the other half.

Other Thoughts: Is there a firmware update to fix this? I couldn't find anything online for RiDATA and a firmware update. On the other hand there are SSD's manufacturers posting comments to reviews in other reviews referring customers to possible fixes.

Unfortunately no fixes seem to mask the effects. I would not use this as your boot drive! There still seem to be no reviews noting the problem on this drive yet...but maybe they didn't test it very thoroughly before reviewing. Anyway, hope this helps someone.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Heat, No Noise

Pros: Easy to install
Does not generate any heat so my laptop stays cool.
Silent operation (like all SSD drives)
Improves battery life
Great Price

Cons: Not as fast as a 7200 RPM but faster than a5400

Other Thoughts: I researched this for a long time and just didn't want to spend $300 for an SSD that I was going to put into a $380 computer.

I know I made a good choice.

5 out of 5 eggs1more hour on laptop battery

Pros: The drive performs well, feels faster loading applications than the original 2.5" 120GB Fujitsu 5k RPM. I had no glitches installing XP or Vista. The extra hour on the battery is great!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: My bios would not lock the drive. That was the only difference installing OS's on this SSD, compared to a mechanical HDD. I encrypted (256AES) the entire drive and the laptop did not slow down noticeably!

4 out of 5 eggsWorks awesome

Pros: fast, silent and can handle being beat, beats my velociraptors hands down in any tests Ive done

Cons: prices, and when recording to it it has little pauses. that would not be good if needing for presentation, so it loses one egg but just one because these with their small sizes usually wouldn't be used for that

Other Thoughts: I bought this to answer questions about their speed and gaming ,blah blah. I waited for a few months to make sure it stayed stable and it hasn't failed
here are speeds
hd transfer rate min 109.2 MB/SEC
max 147.9 MB/SEC
avg 134.3 MB/SEC

access time 0.2ms
Burst Rate 147.5 MB/SEC
cpu usage 1.8%

yes it's that fast and when I load new zones or maps all i can say is woot. Ive tried on numerous games and if playing multiplayer I'm always waiting for people (I get lonely sometimes) haha. I think these solid state drives are the perfect large zone hd made. I hope this answers a few questions and now at current prices you can get double what I got, Good gaming
