5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for my EeePC 900

Pros: It stores 16GB of data

Cons: It doesn't make my computer sentient

Other Thoughts: Not much to say other than that this works as a replacement for my EeePC 900's crapped-out SSD. Couldn't be happier

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for eeePC 900 upgrade

Pros: - Easy install into an ASUS eeePC 900.
- Increased performance (made a BIG difference w/winXP).
- Enough space to dual boot WinXP and Ubuntu.
- Fair price compared to replacing netbook w/ another.

Cons: - Should have purchased a long time ago.

Other Thoughts: - Typical NewEgg fast shipping.

5 out of 5 eggseeePC 1000 easy install

Pros: Very easy to install. eeePC 1000 sees the drive correctly as a 16 gig drive.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Moved my Windows 7 Premium install from the onboard SSD using free version of Paragon Drive Backup, point being the install is identical. Windows Experience number for drive performance went from 5.2 to 5.9. I expected more and machine seems much faster. SiSoftSandra benchmarked the onboard 8 gig drive at 32 MBs and the new RiData 16 gig at 70 MBs, which is very close to the manufacture claimed 75 MBs. This is only read performance.

3 out of 5 eggsnot your c drive replacement

Pros: small ssd

Cons: not small enough

Other Thoughts: This is NOT the right size to replace the small 4gb ssd in the eeepc901. it WILL replace the 8gb easily accessed from the back cover

5 out of 5 eggsMy ASUS 900 just fly

Pros: I used this SSD to upgrade my ASUS 900. Did not benchmark, but it is significantly faster than the factory 4g SSD. Space enough to install W7 without problem and with Ubuntu or FreeBSD I still have free 80% of the SSD.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsWaaay faster

Pros: Much faster than the original SSD

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My Asus Eee PC 900A shipped with a 4GB SSD, which was barely big enough to hold Ubuntu Netbook Remix with some additional programs installed. I bought this drive to upgrade the space, and I was blown away by the speed. I cloned the old partition to an image and copied it onto the new drive. The read from the old SSD onto a USB flash drive took about 6 minutes. The write from the USB drive to the new SSD took about 2 minutes. Boot time was much, much faster. I am very happy with this purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsI'm Happy With It

Pros: Installed it in my eeePC 900A, then loaded Win 7 Home Premium on it, still have about 4GB of free space. Boots in around 45 seconds, able to run Office 2010 Beta without any major issues - ppt gets a bit laggy with large photos, but not a big deal as I only use word and excel with frequency. I should also mention that installed a 2GB Corsair RAM chip... Battery life took a hit but this is probably more Win 7 related than SSD related. I could run about 5 hours using the lame Linux OS it came with on the undersized (and slow) SSD. With WiFi on, battery lasts about 3 hours, 4 with it off, and this is fine for me. Getting rid of that bogus OS for an hour of battery life is worth the reduced frustration.

Cons: So internet video is a bit choppy... That's why I have a Desktop. However, it plays mpegs fine off of a cheapie 8GB SDHC flash card I got from newegg, so I have plenty of other ways to waste time.

Other Thoughts: I didn't really feel like shelling out the extra money for the 32GB, and this is fine for what I use the netbook for. I'm not sure why the other reviewer's HD slowed down, but I haven't had this problem. It handles Win 7 well enough for something that isn't a new i7, and I feel like the upgrade to the SSD (which allowed the Win 7 install) has really helped my productivity. Couldn't be happier.

1 out of 5 eggsS-L-O-W

Pros: Very easy to install.

Cons: But once you get it installed, you will regret it. Terribly, awfully, achingly slow. Read/write times are too low to watch online video; websites take too long to load.

Other Thoughts: Don't purchase this if you are looking to speed up and improve memory capacity for your Asus 900 series netbook. Let my $60 mistake be a warning to you!
