This Drive is buggy with Windows 7
- Pros: 32 gigs, installs and recognizes right away, quiet and cool
- Cons: This thing doesn't seem any faster than a traditional drive. Windows 7 doesnt recognize this as an SSD and i've had no luck fiddling with it. There are numerous settings that have to be done by hand, and it still isn't running right. I get strange pauses/ hangs for 2-10 seconds from time to time where the drive light says it's accessing and nothing happens. Windows experience rates it on par with my regular drives. It is fast to load tiny files, but not always.
- Other Thoughts: I would love RIDATA/RITEC to supply a driver, or some instructions to make this thing run right, otherwise for the same price you could have a terabyte traditional drive instead of this 32GB SSD
Update-Rifth
- Pros: Okay, after doing some win7 tweeking the SSD is running smoothly now.
- Cons: Again, I did not run any benchmark tests on it but Win7 rates it .2 higher than my barracuda. Which is pretty sad in my opinion. But every little bit of speed helps.
- Other Thoughts: Wait until it's affordable.
Works great
- Pros: Very fast. I installed Win7x64 in minutes. I use this just to run the OS. Silent and no heat. I'm running so many fan, I barely hear my regular HDD though.
- Cons: None so far.
- Other Thoughts: I wish the GB/$ ratio was better.
