3 out of 5 eggsNot so readyboost great

Pros: Seems fast,well made

Cons: Tried using this for readyboost and it caused problems and eventualyl blue screens. I do not know if this was WIndows XP's fault or the card.

Other Thoughts: Some class 6 cards I have are faster...

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't work for me

Pros: Pretty good pricing.

Cons: It didn't work on any of my three cameras (one is an hd video camera, the other two are point and shoot). Maybe they couldn't handle a class 10 card, I don't know. It not only didn't work, but prevented them from doing anything. When I replaced this card with my old one they went back to working fine.

When I tried this card in my computer, I got some very weird results. Initially it showed up fine, but froze during its first data transfer, and I had to restart my computer. It failed to show up in My Computer when I tried inserting the card again. The next time I put it in it showed the icon, and my pc told me I needed to reformat the card, so I did. After that, its icon never showed up in my computer again.

I should note that my computer is a relatively high-end machine, a little over a year old. I have not had freezing or drive reading issues in the past, so I'm going to assume that the card is at fault here...

Other Thoughts: Kinda disappointed, glad it was inexpensive. This is my first time with RiData, so I won't hold it against them, I think I just got unlucky this time around.

4 out of 5 eggsSeems Good

Pros: Inexpensive and 8 GB with good rated speed, 2 year warranty would be good for more expensive models

Cons: None as of yet

Other Thoughts: My results of testing are as follows: HD Tune says - 17 mb transfer rate avg

Flash Memory Toolkit says - Low Level Benchark = reads of 17.1 mb - 17.5 mb (116-119x speeds) - File Benchmarks look more impressive with larger file size

Results -

1 mb file size 7000 KB/s write and 16,600 KB/s read with a 5 mb file size going 9000 write and 18,000 read.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: It seemed like a good product at first.

Cons: I took about 100 pictures with this, but about half of the images were gone. Actually they are there in jpeg format, but can't read the images.
I'll return this and perhaps get something else instead.

4 out of 5 eggsSeems OK

Pros: Writing a 1GB file to it I get 7.1MB/s. Reading that file happens at 13.8MB/s.

Writing a mix of 0.5MB to 3.6MB files, typical photo sizes, I get 5.8MB/s, and reading them I get 12.2MB/s.

It performs better than simil;ar Class 10 cards I have from Transcend and PQi, with the write speed for smaller files being a particular strength.

Comes with a plastic case.

Cons: None at this time.

Other Thoughts: I've only had the card for a few days, and it's my first RiData card, so I can't comment on longevity, but it looks nicely made and I even like the look of it.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes its job

Pros: It works just fine. Got it about 8 months ago to go with my Canon T1i; so far I've taken over 10k pics with this card and no problems.

Cons: none that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: The HD video doesn't fair that well with this card, but I may just need a class 10 card for that.
