5 out of 5 eggs1 Year of Solid Use - No Problems

Pros: Large key ring hole.
Capless, but still the USB port is well protected.
Doesn't have to be removed from key ring for use.

Cons: The hinge swivel design (IMO) puts awkward pressure on the usb port when hanging keys.

I move it around between many of my systems, and it doesn't seem to have caused any kind of port looseness (even after a year), but it's something that I think about when I'm inserting the key or letting anything near it while it's inserted.

Other Thoughts: The problems that others have described, with the key becoming inaccessible and the like... I've never experienced that. And like I said, I have moved it around between many systems.

5 out of 5 eggsFor those having non working Lexar Jumpdrive

Pros: If you or any victim have problem with this jumpdrive, you don't throw it away. I have a problem like those of you indicated that it stop working in a month. Mine stopped working in two days. I plugged it in one available usb port of my another desktop (none running computer) then I unplugged it. After that I plugged in on the back of my running desktop without any usb device connection and voila my 64GB start working again. You should try many ways to let it work again. It's just a firmware bug not the hardware so don't throw it away. Beep it! Good luck.

Cons: easy to stop working. Bug in firmware. Need update firmware.

Other Thoughts: 256GB maybe. No bug, ok. :)

2 out of 5 eggsHigh price for bad product

Pros: lightweight

Cons: quit working on me after 1.5 month of use. Best newegg service wont take it back, saying it go over 30 days period. I did RMA, now get refurbished drive without package so I even can't sell it as new. other stores have this peace of technology for $35 already. Seems like a lot of room to improve.. it's my second lexar drive failed on me. within 2 year

Other Thoughts: I just go to other store to buy survival by corsair, looks and feel much better, not to mention waterproof case.

1 out of 5 eggsNO GOOD!!

Pros: 64 GB of space.

Cons: Stopped working on Windows XP. Had a problem with the stick, kept saying to check for solutions. After that had to format the thing on my Win 7 machine. Now it won't even read and/or format on a Windows XP machine.

Other Thoughts: Stay away from Lexar! Years ago I worked for a computer store and the Lexar memory would always come back. I thought Lexar would have been better now from years ago.....looks like I was wrong.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine for what it cost.

Pros: Bought this on sale and it's been great so far

Built solidly and well

Love that it is more robust than my old Cruzer drive that cracked and felt shoddy and cheapo.

Cons: Would like a 1GB version of this in lots of colours, to hand out to my student in the first week of school.

transfer rate slow, but I don't mind

Other Thoughts: .

3 out of 5 eggsCan come apart

Pros: Good price, convenient size/shape

Cons: The two circular windows through which the LED activity indicator is visible are also part of the hinge, and if it is twisted they will pop out and are easily lost. I did this by unintentionally stepping on the lanyard when this flashdrive was connected to my tower computer.

Other Thoughts: The disadvantage could also be an advantage, as the mechanical falure mode avoids damage to the computer and leaves the flashdrive in working condition.

2 out of 5 eggsGood, when it works.Easy RMA Policy

Pros: Good Capacity, Reasonable Price, Capless Design

Cons: Inconsistent transfers. Build Quality
I am currently getting my 2nd RMA unit on theis model. I orginally purchased this unit a few years ago when it was on sale for $70 down from $100+. After the first 1 and1/2 years it started to randomly disconnect from the computer during file transfers. Still under warranty sent it back got a new happens. I just sent in an RMA for that replacement unit guess what....approximately 1/ 1/2 years from receiving it.
So it looks like this model will start to fail every 1 1/2 years with light to moderate use.

Good thing for the 2 year warranty. Looks like somebody got the planned obsolescence wrong on this model and it starts to fail just before the warranty expires instead of after. (A win for the consumer..I guess) If you are going to get it be prepared to send it in just before the warranty runs out.

And if people think that is the normal life cycle for a flash drive I have a 2007 Memorex Travel Drive that says different.

4 out of 5 eggsSlow writes

Pros: Works, okay reads (12-18MB/s), large size, affordable price

Cons: Slow writes; I only get upto 6MB/s which is retardedly slow!

I don't like the plastic swivel thing.

Other Thoughts: Buy this as a storage drive only. If you just want to have a drive with long lifespan, for personal photo's or video's without freaking out on a harddrive breaking down, and if an SD card is too fragile, then this might be a great way to keep your memories for long time!

When I broke off the swivel thing, the drive turns out to have a tiny red led inside, not visible under normal circumstances.
