2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Its very fast., and it looks nice. The USB port does not slide out easily.

Cons: It took me over 3 hours to get mine to work on windows 7. "My Computer" would not see it, but the disk management utility would. It would not let me access or format it though. I had to format it in a Mac, to FAT so windows would find it. Then in windows I had to format it to NTFS, so it would not crash everytime I tried to write more than 1 GB to it.

Other Thoughts: Nice, I wouldn't buy another one if I had to go through the same trouble.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Choice

Pros: This is one of several flash drives I own out of many that span the spectrum from Super Talent to the mundane. This drive is a decent size and relatively speedy. Max speed I have seen transferring a 14GB upload off this drive was about 60MB/sec. Download was in the neighborhood of 110MB/sec. For the cost and size of this drive, this is pretty decent.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I would recommend or buy again.

5 out of 5 eggsHigh Quality

Pros: Quality - The device feels solid. I don't cringe or expect any shattering when I drop the drive.

Speed - I've never had a faster USB drive. Some other USB 3.0 drives barely feel like they are a step up from USB 2.x. With this drive the benefits of USB 3.0 are clear.

Even plugged into a USB 2.x port file transfers are quicker than I expect.

Cons: The Lanyard - Let's be realistic and just not call it a lanyard. Wikipedia says that a lanyard is typically made to go around one's neck or wrist, but the "lanyard" supplied is barely as long as the flash drive itself. I could put it around my finger maybe.

Lets call it what it is. A keychain attachment. One that's fairly difficult to loop through the two (airflow?) holes on the back of the drive.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat flash drive

Pros: This thing is FAST. Files under 1 gigabyte usually transfer instantly, larger ones around 6-8 gigabytes only take a couple minutes.

Cons: It gets a little warm. But that's probably what the metal body is for.

Other Thoughts: Might get a larger edition later.

5 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely worth it

Pros: USB 3.0, insanely fast. Benchmarked it at 162MB/s read, 109MB/s write (sequential) using 'AS SSD'. Strong metal casing, could probably handle being run over by a car.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: It is a fair bit heavier than the average flash drive, though nothing to complain about. It's not like you're going to wear it as an earring. It's also more expensive than the average flash drive, but if you want the best, it's not going to free.

4 out of 5 eggsSlick Stick

Pros: In some tests this is the fastest flash drive I've tested. Using ATTO it gave 125 write and 170 read for transfers above 32 KBS to 8192 KBS. Doing a full install of Linux Mint with no swap and only / (requires plenty of RAM) it booted in 45 seconds. A supposedly slower competitor with the same programs installed, boots in 30 seconds. Both with Mint OS are very snappy for opening applications; no noticable difference. Overall I think it would be difficult to find a faster USB 3.0 drive.

Cons: One thing I do not like is how slick it is. Very easy to drop. To make matters worse, the polished edges are very rounded and beveled, making it harder to grasp. I have never seen a drive this slick or poorly shaped for pushing in and out. For a retractable, it is solid, but not as solid as some of the non-retractibles I have. Other than that it is extremely impressive.

5 out of 5 eggsFast!

Pros: Fastest USB flash drive I've ever used. Benched it at 40.5 MB/s write and 47.0 MB/s read on USB 2.0, 122 MB/s write and 152 MB/s read on USB 3.0. That's faster than any platter drive I've never benched, on SATA II or SATA III. It's about time USB flash drives caught up to platter drives in speed. Worked great out of the box on both Linux and Windows.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Some might complain that the price is high for a flash drive of this capacity, but if you ask me we have been LONG overdue for a flash drive with better than ~10MB/s read/write speeds. Compared to this drive, everything else is trash. In my briefcase I have Mushkin, Sandisk, Kingston, and ADATA flash drives, none of which can hold a candle to this drive even on USB 2.0, much less on USB 3.0.

4 out of 5 eggsFAST, FAST, FAST

Pros: One of the fastest USB thumb drives available
Metal back
CrystalDiskMark 3.0.1c showed read speeds topping 162MB/sec & write speeds hitting 128MB/sec.

Cons: Expensive compared to other (slower) USB 3.0 thumb drives
Plastic top
Ring Hole on back poorly designed IMO, hard to get even a small metal ring through, but fine for the included keychain lanyard that I prefer not to use...
Activity LED is bright white, would prefer a more subtle white, blue, or red.

Other Thoughts: If your primary concern is write speed at any cost, then this is the thumb-drive for you... at least currently...

For the price, an all metal enclosure would have been nice.

USB 3.0 ports would not recognize drive at first, tried 3 different USB 3.0 ports. Rear USB 2.0 ports on computer would not recognize drive either. I was about to send a request for RMA when I decided to try front mounted USB 2.0 port on computer. It found & initiallized the drive & it's worked fine since then on all USB ports.

On USB 2.0, it tops out at 35MB/sec read & write speed, making it faster than any USB 2.0 Thumb Drive I've seen or used.

Purchased for current & future custom installs of Windows 7 & Windows 8 (BETA now, but eventually OEM/Retail versions) systems from USB which is significantly faster than install from DVD, even on USB 2.0 interface.
