(ie no chance to bend cf pins) Cons: compact usb3.0 connector on card reader side Only lasts about 6 months Other Thoughts: Had it for about 6 months, Went from reliable to inconsistent and questionable. Part of the problem imo is the Compact usb B connect on the back of the reader. It takes a lot of strain directly at the connector. Which I have a feeling is part of the reason Mine is now useless. Would of been better to have a standard full size B plug on the device. I only use it for CF cards, Occasionally I throw a SD card in it at the same time. However It has lost the ability to communicate with the CF card slot. When it does manage to communicate with it and have it show up correctly the error rate is through the roof. Firmware updates had did nothing to fix this. Neither did replacing the cable. With a new and certified working correctly cable. While I will accept that its most likely user induced wear and tear on the connector. It still has a bit of a feeling that its engineered to fail. Not to mention the chance that its actually a flaw in the chip behind the connector makes me question the worth of paying top dollar for what is suppose to be a premium card reader that is suppose to be reliable? I don't travel with my card reader Its not like it has to survive my laptop bag, which I could understand would most likely make this device live an even shorter life. Cons: This reader is cheaper everyplace else you look with most stores coming in 20 bucks cheaper plus free shipping at some of them.
