5 out of 5 eggsThat was easy

Pros: Installed in 2 minutes and was downloading photos immediately. Wow that was easy. No install procedure, no disks under XP.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Seems to allocate a drive letter for every slot in the card reader - 4 or 5.

1 out of 5 eggsNo good

Pros: Worked at first.

Cons: Died. No longer reading cards in ANY of the slots!

Other Thoughts: Went bad after I'd owned it for more than 30 days, so I cannot return it. This one's a complete loss.

4 out of 5 eggsNice unit but...

Pros: Small compact size, LED connection/activity indicator, gives seperate drive letters for card slots. Using Win XP Home

Cons: Was incorrectly listed as handling Smart Media cards on Newegg's product page. Manufacturer's product page did not list as accepting Smart Media.

Other Thoughts: I'm ordering another different card reader. This time I checked with manufacturer first for compatability.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: It has worked well with different types of media (xD, SD, and CF.)

Cons: The layout on some sides is not so good (large holes supporting multiple cards cascaded into one.) It's difficult to figure out which way to insert the cards around the SD/xD area without trying to see where the pins in the device are located.

4 out of 5 eggs+

Pros: Very slick-looking little gadget. More or less covers all the bases, in terms of supported card types.

Cons: I get a couple of No Disk errors every time I plug it in. Minor annoyance. Cards feel a little wonky going in. Always tends to push the "lock" switch on whatever SD card I'm inserting, but nothing a mite of superglue on the SD card can't fix (honestly, uses the lock feature on removable storage anyway?)

Other Thoughts: Absolutely incredible buy, I think. I've had it for over a year. It meant a lot to me that it was better-looking than just about any other card reader out there. Does exactly what I need it to do, so my minor annoyances have a minimal impact on my overall opinion.

2 out of 5 eggsDecent but not entirely reliable

Pros: Compact, supports most card formats, relatively fast transfer rate.

Cons: Died after 1 year. It would randomly and somewhat frequently disconnect itself from my Mac. Unplugging it and plugging it back in would fix the issue but why would I want to do that 10 times a day?

Other Thoughts: I never lost any files when the random disconnects occurred.

5 out of 5 eggsNever a problem...

Pros: This little jewel has gone with me into the woods, on business trips... everywhere I take my cameras (3 different card types) and my GPS (another card type). It has never missed a beat. Plug and play on my XP and my XPx64 computers. I am very seriously considering getting a second one just so I don't have to worry about forgetting to pack it with my laptop when I hit the road.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: As with all card readers, be careful when inserting your memory card. Don't force as it takes very little to insert the cards when they are lined up correctly.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: I've had this card reader for about 2 years now, still works like a champ. I use it for many things, mostly for transferring images from my 2Gb CF card to my laptop, but I also used it for transferring memory sticks for phones, and other digital cameras.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The only thing I've noticed is you do have to insert the cards with a little bit of care. If you just try to jam the card in, sometimes it wont go in properly and bend one of the connections, I've done that many times. Just used a flat head screw driver to bend them back.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Flawlessly, XP Supported!

Pros: Supported by XP out of the box, No drivers need. Read/Write from all card types at once. I mostly use MicroSD with SD and CF adapters--they all work fine. For the price, this card reader cant be beat.

Cons: NONE*
*Be careful when inserting modules--as with ANY card reader, user error while inserting modules could cause problems or damage to device and memory modules.

Other Thoughts: When connected to a Windows XP machine, 4 new "Removable Disk" Drives will be available, one for each memory type. (drive letters will vary)
