Update for worked, then not working and wont boot if a card is in it on start up.

Went to Device Manager.
Under Disk Drives uninstalled all 4 generic card readers (by clicking on the drive and choosing uninstall).

Specific instruction to uninstall are:

Highlight each drive specifically, then use the right mouse button to bring up the option to Update Driver, Disable, Uninstall, Scan for Hardware Changes, or Properties...chose Uninstall (repeat for all 4 drivers) and then restart the computer

Once you have restarted, the devices automatically reinstall and it works.

It seems there may be an issue with Windows 7 64bit drivers and this device. I am running Windows 7 64 bit enterprise to be more specific.

Pros: Was great for a little while

Cons: Worthless. Less than 60 days and now it won't read any of my memory cards.

Other Thoughts: Buyer beware: They ask for a $10 check to process your RMA. Bytecc=Junk.

Cons: - USB 2.0 only
- Red light on panel stays on when computer is off

Other Thoughts: This is a decent quality, USB 2.0 card reader, and the price is outstanding. The fact that it's USB 2.0 could be considered either a pro or a con, depending on what headers are available on the motherboard. The 3.5" form factor is another feature that could be either a pro or a con, depending on what the case supports.

Overall this is a solid, reliable device that I would recommend to others.

Other Thoughts: Face plate arrangement has changed a bit since photo on web page taken. Still has everything listed. All I wanted was SD, Micro SD, and Compact Flash. Yes, I still use Compact Flash!

Pros: Looks pretty well put together. Fits nicely where it's supposed to go. All the holes on the front line up with the slots.

Cons: None, really. It works.

Other Thoughts: I wish the LED lights on the front were blue instead of red. The red really throws off my whole "Blue LEDs only" policy. oh well.

Pros: Single USB connector.
Faceplates to match case.
Supports many cards.
Plug and play.

Cons: Only one USB 2.0 port.

Other Thoughts: I have 4 USB 3.0 ports on my Lian Li PCD600 Case. I only wanted for the extra USB 2.0 and SD card slot and this fills up my last empty 5.25 drive bay in my massive case. The red LED's didn't match. Their tiny LEDs, and can't really be removed. They can be easily destroyed with a soldering iron tho. Once they're destroyed you can easily solder standard LEDs of which ever color you prefer. I omitted the status light and opted to install a single blue LED which stays on when a card is plugged in, but interesting, wont turn on with only a USB device.

I wish the cord was a little bit longer, It's just long enough for me to connect.

Pros: It does what it's meant to, but...(see cons)

Cons: The slots themselves aren't super well manufactures. For instance, getting a CF card inserted is the most annoying thing...it doesn't have a good insertion system for CF, so it's a pain to bother with it sometimes. Haven't had that problem with SD cards though.

Also, why the clear/silver USB extension? Why can't it be black like everything else? Dumb choice.

Pros: Some others reported that this will show something like 5 unused drives even when nothing is plugged into the device. This is not my experience. Once the drivers automatically downloaded and installed with Windows update, all the extra drives disappeared.

A drive will only appear if something is inserted.

Cons: Not much.

Pros: Quite frankly, it works. After reading some not so stellar reviews I decided to take the gamble for 12 bucks( thats what I paid anyway}. I've had it since 2012 and the card slots and usb still work. I do have to admit to not knowing if the cf card slot works though as I don't use those. Overall, pretty OK for cheap and can definitely reccomend as long as you're willing to take the bet. I'm pretty happy.

Cons: As others have said, the light is annoying. It's not insanely bright or anything but it is always on. My rig is on the floor though so I only really notice when going to bed.
