1 out of 5 eggsPoor product

This review is from: Transcend 32GB Compact Flash (CF) Flash Card Model TS32GCF133

Pros: None

Cons: Poor customer service.

Other Thoughts: These cards come with built in write protection. If you have a problem with the card, you cannot simply reformat the card. You have to buy the Transcend card reader in order to reformat the card. I attempted to contact their customer service and was effectively told to buy the Transcend card reader or a new card. When I bought the card, all I wanted was a simple compact flash card; I did not want built in malware.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't purchase - died after 6 months of light use

This review is from: Transcend 32GB Compact Flash (CF) Flash Card Model TS32GCF133

Pros: Relatively cheap

Cons: Card totally died after 6 months of very light usage. Of course it's past the 30 day warranty.

2 out of 5 eggsNot worth the risk

This review is from: Transcend 32GB Compact Flash (CF) Flash Card Model TS32GCF133

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Unreliable; also slow for HD video recording

Other Thoughts: I purchased two of these for shooting HD DSLR video on a Canon 7D. From the start, both cards recorded adequately but the low speed caused significant lag time between recordings and occasionally stopped recordings within the first five seconds, causing me to have to restart the recording. These latter issues may or may not cause problems for other data storage/photography purposes - I'm have no knowledge to contribute there.

After a month or so, one of the two cards stopped working altogether. I lost a couple of files right before this failure, which is any videographer's worst-case-scenario. I went ahead and purchased a 32GB from SanDisk instead and I'm much happier with my purchase. I know the cheap price is tempting, but I highly recommend spending the extra money for a reliable card - especially now that the SanDisk 32GB 60MB/sec has come down from $150 to $80. I'll never stray from SanDisk again.

2 out of 5 eggsUpdate of older review

This review is from: Transcend 32GB Compact Flash (CF) Flash Card Model TS32GCF133

Pros: 32 Gigs - low price (now it is older)

Cons: Update of review - 3/11/2008 6:02:53 PM

Warranty was Lifetime - now 2 years. Has company lost faith in its own product? My first card failed on me after about a year. had 16gigs of pics on it and would not format to more than 16gigs. No haggle replacement came but since then I made other arrangements as I lost confidence in this product. It sits in unopened package.

Other Thoughts: When your only job is to safely store and you do not do your job - then your value is diminished.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great in Canon 5d Mark II

This review is from: Transcend 32GB Compact Flash (CF) Flash Card Model TS32GCF133

Pros: This card works great for landscapes, some portrait work, and shooting video with my Canon 5d Mark II. It holds 1000+ RAW images and hasn't let me down yet - all photos transferred off the card have been readable. I've done multiple weddings and a few overseas trips with this card and haven't had an issue yet.

Cons: Not really a con because of the advertised speed of 133x, but this card is slow when dealing with the big files that the 5d Mark II dumps on it. In burst mode, I find myself waiting quite a bit for files to write to the card. Also, when pulling up photos for review, there sometimes is a noticeable delay before anything displays. Once displayed, however, I haven't seen any lag between each photo when reviewing. You'll also find yourself waiting when transferring files off of the card - I've had waits of 2+ hours for 20+ gigs after an event. Could be my usb/cardreader combo, but other cards I've had seem speedier.

Other Thoughts: Overall I'm very happy with this card, especially considering the amount of storage for the price. If you don't shoot in burst mode often, this card should work for you just fine. I'd also recommend it for those looking to shoot video and don't want to shell out twice as much for a speedier card - this one will handle video just fine.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Card

This review is from: Transcend 32GB Compact Flash (CF) Flash Card Model TS32GCF133

Pros: Cheap

Cons: I format my cards after every use. The card writes in-camera fine but I just lost an entire shoot. Neither Lightroom or Imagecapture can read the files. I've It only seems to happen when I have been shooting long exposures so I''m not sure what the problem is but I'm never using this card again.

5 out of 5 eggsiPod Mini upgrade: Works great for me

This review is from: Transcend 32GB Compact Flash (CF) Flash Card Model TS32GCF133

Pros: Reasonable price and plenty of space for music and books on a 2nd generation iPod mini running Rockbox. I purchased the product because others advised it worked without problems and that is my experience.

Cons: Not really a con but the prices on CF seem high to me.

Other Thoughts: A friend gave me an old, dead iPod mini. I picked up a new battery on the web and the CF from Newegg. For the cost of the CF and $3 battery I have Rockbox media play that stores 30 gigs of music and audio books. I am a happy camper.

1 out of 5 eggswouldn't purchase

This review is from: Transcend 32GB Compact Flash (CF) Flash Card Model TS32GCF133

Pros: the card came from newegg fast. pretty rainbow on the front

Cons: only reads 7.3 gb. transfer rate is slower than my sandisk 2 gb 20 mb flash disk. very disappointed. contacted newegg.

Other Thoughts: looking to see if people have the same issue or if I have a bad disk. Im sure the disk works as said if it's not a bad disk. But I wouldn't take a chance again.

5 out of 5 eggsPERFECT

This review is from: Transcend 32GB Compact Flash (CF) Flash Card Model TS32GCF133

Pros: PERFECT CARD FOR IPOD HARD DRIVE REPLACEMENT!
if youre not a photographer and dont need a super speedy write card, but need a pretty good fast reading card this is your card.

I bought it and replaced my ipod mini 4gb hard drive and now have a fully functioning 32gb ipod mini! Valid in itunes and works perfectly!

uses less battery and is shockproof! also a makes the ipod a little lighter as well! GREAT UPGRADE!

Cons: none really. doubt it will fail on me from just being in an ipod.

Other Thoughts: im no photographer so i cant say much. but for my use it was perfect.
