3 out of 5 eggsNot really USB 3.0 maybe 2.1

This review is from: Transcend JetFlash 760 4GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model TS4GJF760

Pros: Cheap but you get what you pay for, same price you can get alot higher gig usb 2.0 that will work almost as fast.

Cons: Was only going at 5.4mb/sec connect to usb 3.0 port and took 3:26 to load 1.15 gigs vs. a real usb 3.0 device i purchased the same day (patriot 8 gig usb 3.0) in which it was moving along at 9.3mb/sec and only took 2.04 to do the same 1.15gig file.

Other Thoughts: Moral of the story, this isnt the speeds you'd hope for with a usb 3.0 device, a few mb/sec faster then 2.0 is all and the 8 gig patriot usb 3.0 was blazing along 4 mb/sec faster! get the 8 gig patriot instead...

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

This review is from: Transcend JetFlash 760 4GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model TS4GJF760

Pros: I want to mention how well it works for a Win 7 USB installer drive. The good read speed of over 70Mbs/Sec makes it fast for this. Win 7 only can use USB 2.0, but it's still faster with a 3.0 drive on a 2.0 port. Like nice LED activity light too!

Cons: Slower write speed, but wow for the money it's sure ok.

Other Thoughts: Luv yellow, but Might get blue next!

5 out of 5 eggsFine

This review is from: Transcend JetFlash 760 4GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model TS4GJF760

Pros: Read 70Mb/Sec Write 8Mb/Sec Adequate for Win USB installer.

Cons: Slider a bit sloppy.

Other Thoughts: I wrote an extensive review, was logged in, and it did not go through. Newegg asked to login again. So this one is crude and short.

1 out of 5 eggsAbsolute Trash

This review is from: Transcend JetFlash 760 4GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model TS4GJF760

Pros: Speed and the Price, free shipping when I bought it, USB 3.0

Cons: Forced me to reformat it out of no where causing me to lose a good day's worth of work. Thank goodness I was backing up regularly.

Other Thoughts: When I first plugged it in, it came formatted and I was able to just put my files on it and work off it. I noticed that for some reason it would periodically reattach itself every now and then but the problem went away, I figured all was well. Suddenly when I got home from work and plugged this device into my desktop, it told me I needed to format it in order for it to work. I tried putting it back into my work laptop, same story. Tried reading it on my Ubuntu machine, no dice. The only way for me to pretend I didn't flush 8 dollars down the toilet was to format this thing, so I did... and now it works again for the time being.

I always safely removed it from my computers, I didn't rough it up or anything, I was very careful with it. There is no excuse for this to happen.

The reviews on [REMOVED] mostly say this is a good product... maybe I just got a lemon or something I'm not too sure but either way, buy at your own risk.

I will never willingly purchase another Transcend product again. Should have went with the the other brand that this sorry excuse of one tries to compete with but fails miserably to do so.

PS. Apparently I'm not allowed to mention the site I read the customer reviews on. Let me just say it's the one you are probably thinking of.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

Sorry to hear that you were experiencing difficulties with your USB drive. Please contact Transcend Technical Support and we will try to find the reason you are experiencing the reformat requests.
