5 out of 5 eggsTis what tis.

This review is from: Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.0 Support SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSD, microSDHC (UHS-I), and microSDXC (UHS-I) Flash Card Reader

Pros: For me, a device like this works, or it don't.
This one works well at USB 3.0 speeds, and looks nice.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: You may need room, as the SD cards sticks out the side.

4 out of 5 eggsNice clean looking modular thumb drive

This review is from: Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.0 Support SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSD, microSDHC (UHS-I), and microSDXC (UHS-I) Flash Card Reader

Pros: I bought 2 of these, one for myself and one for my mother who lacked a proper thumb drive.
- Modularity, you can put a standard card reader or microSD card in it and swap as needed
- Cheap, nuff said
- Looks good...yeah it's plastic but it looks pretty sleek.

Cons: I wish the microSD card would fit more flush with the thumb drive...it sticks out just a few mm too much imo.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a fast, cheap, reliable, modular, and decent looking USB 3.0 thumb drive, this is the one to get.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes It's job

This review is from: Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.0 Support SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSD, microSDHC (UHS-I), and microSDXC (UHS-I) Flash Card Reader

Pros: Dual slots, USB 3.0.

Cons: Gets warm sometimes after intense data transfer.

Other Thoughts: I bought two by accident due to a billing mistake on my part and was gonna send one back but have decided to keep them both as they are good at what they do.

5 out of 5 eggsSD to USB Converter

This review is from: Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.0 Support SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSD, microSDHC (UHS-I), and microSDXC (UHS-I) Flash Card Reader

Pros: Loaded up drivers VERY fast. plugged in an SD card and it opened up faster than a dedicated SD card reader built into my neighbors NEW computer.

Cons: Had to use it on the back of my PC, but that's just because the way my USB ports are arranged.

Other Thoughts: Shipped very fast. Very happy.

5 out of 5 eggsFast! Very nice card reader

This review is from: Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.0 Support SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSD, microSDHC (UHS-I), and microSDXC (UHS-I) Flash Card Reader

Pros: Very happy with this reader. Reads my Micro SD cards, and SD cards from my camera. Much faster than my old USB 2.0 readers. No exact read/write figures but it is very noticeable. If you have USB 3.0 connections on your PC, buy this. Not much more expensive than a 2.0 reader and well worth it. No problems with it, cards fit snugly in their respective slots with no wiggle. I do not have to wiggle the card around trying to get a proper seat in the slot as I do with some of my cheaper readers.

Cons: Can only read one card at a time. Not a con for me really, but could be for others.

Other Thoughts: As stated above, it can only read one card at a time. This is not a hub connector, it is read as a removable disc by Windows. If you are looking for a hub that will read multiple cards at once, this is not what you want!

Cons: Can't think of any.

2 out of 5 eggsDoes not haveUSB 3 speed

This review is from: Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.0 Support SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSD, microSDHC (UHS-I), and microSDXC (UHS-I) Flash Card Reader

Pros: Price (inexpensive at 7 bucks)

Cons: Don't be fooled - This is NOT USB 3 speeds here! I did a test with a class 10 SD card, reading and writing several files both with this card reader and a standard USB 2 card reader and the results were identical. Was a little shocked, so I did the test with a different UHS 1 sd card...same result - identical to usb 2 speed. If it is speed you are looking for, buy another USB 3 card reader - this one is NOT the one you are looking for.

5 out of 5 eggsQuick even on USB 2.0

This review is from: Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.0 Support SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSD, microSDHC (UHS-I), and microSDXC (UHS-I) Flash Card Reader

Pros: Quick even on USB 2.0. A little quicker on USB 3.0

Cons: Shoulda bought it sooner.

Other Thoughts: Even on USB 2, this thing blows the doors off my old card reader. I probably didn't need to buy the USB 3.0 interface card for my (now dated) machine.

5 out of 5 eggsJust works...fast

This review is from: Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.0 Support SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSD, microSDHC (UHS-I), and microSDXC (UHS-I) Flash Card Reader

Pros: Fast, cheap, black

Cons: Requires an sd to microsd adapter for microsd cards

Other Thoughts: I use this primarily with a 64gb sdxc microsd card that I normally leave installed in my Surface Pro 2. When I need to turn the card into a thumb drive I use this. So far I've observed no speed difference between this adapter and the built in reader.

This review is from: Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.0 Support SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSD, microSDHC (UHS-I), and microSDXC (UHS-I) Flash Card Reader

Pros: Can this be used to boot a PC with a properly prepared SD or MicroSD that is made bootable?

Cons: Thanks
