4 out of 5 eggsVery Helpful

This review is from: Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.0 Support SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSD, microSDHC (UHS-I), and microSDXC (UHS-I) Flash Card Reader

Pros: This is perfect for my needs. I work with SD and MicroSD cards virtually everyday, and often use computers that do not have card readers attached. This USB Stick sized card reader is small and perfect for carrying with me all the time. It seems to work well on Linux, Win 7, Win xp, Vista

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsGreat reader

This review is from: Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.0 Support SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSD, microSDHC (UHS-I), and microSDXC (UHS-I) Flash Card Reader

Pros: small, inexpensive and well made; can read both SD and micro-SD cards; reads my Patriot and Adata UHS-I SDHC cards at 85-95 MB/s sequential and writes at 45-65 MB/s sequential; these speeds are on par with my SIIG USB 3 reader which cost me $25

Cons: gets quite warm during use

Other Thoughts: People who report that this reader only runs at USB 2.0 speed probably were using slower cards (Class 10 is only certified at 10MB/s)--the reader is obviously limited by the flash card itself. Very few SD cards on the market are rated higher than 90/60 MB/s and they are quite expensive

4 out of 5 eggsGood card reader

This review is from: Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.0 Support SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSD, microSDHC (UHS-I), and microSDXC (UHS-I) Flash Card Reader

Pros: This Transcend USB 3.0 card reader works pretty well for the UHS-I high-speed SDHC cards I use with my DSLR. I get read speeds of 55-60 MB/s on my primary work cards, which aren't even the fastest SDHC cards I own. Also works with Micro SD cards. The blue status LED even matches the rest of my PC components.

Cons: Gets rather warm while in use. Not enough that I'd worry about it burning out, but still...

Other Thoughts: I got this to replace an internal card reader which ceased to function correctly. I considered a direct replacement, but I wanted something faster than the old USB 2.0 card reader, and my PC has USB 3.0 ports, but only on the back of the case. So, I got a USB 3.0 extension cable, and this card reader to use with it, and it all works great. Much faster than the old internal reader!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat bang for buck

This review is from: Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.0 Support SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSD, microSDHC (UHS-I), and microSDXC (UHS-I) Flash Card Reader

Pros: Haven't had much time with it, but seems to be as fast as my built-in reader for my laptop, no USB 3.0 to test on yet.

Cons: Like others have said, finger prtint magnet, sticks out a bit much for the size, nothing -egg worthy

This review is from: Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.0 Support SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSD, microSDHC (UHS-I), and microSDXC (UHS-I) Flash Card Reader

Pros: For me, a device like this works, or it don't.
This one works well at USB 3.0 speeds, and looks nice.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: You may need room, as the SD cards sticks out the side.

4 out of 5 eggsNice clean looking modular thumb drive

This review is from: Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.0 Support SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSD, microSDHC (UHS-I), and microSDXC (UHS-I) Flash Card Reader

Pros: I bought 2 of these, one for myself and one for my mother who lacked a proper thumb drive.
- Modularity, you can put a standard card reader or microSD card in it and swap as needed
- Cheap, nuff said
- Looks good...yeah it's plastic but it looks pretty sleek.

Cons: I wish the microSD card would fit more flush with the thumb drive...it sticks out just a few mm too much imo.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a fast, cheap, reliable, modular, and decent looking USB 3.0 thumb drive, this is the one to get.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes It's job

This review is from: Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.0 Support SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSD, microSDHC (UHS-I), and microSDXC (UHS-I) Flash Card Reader

Pros: Dual slots, USB 3.0.

Cons: Gets warm sometimes after intense data transfer.

Other Thoughts: I bought two by accident due to a billing mistake on my part and was gonna send one back but have decided to keep them both as they are good at what they do.

5 out of 5 eggsSD to USB Converter

This review is from: Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.0 Support SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSD, microSDHC (UHS-I), and microSDXC (UHS-I) Flash Card Reader

Pros: Loaded up drivers VERY fast. plugged in an SD card and it opened up faster than a dedicated SD card reader built into my neighbors NEW computer.

Cons: Had to use it on the back of my PC, but that's just because the way my USB ports are arranged.

Other Thoughts: Shipped very fast. Very happy.
