1 out of 5 eggsDoes not play well with Windows

Pros: Good capacity

Cons: Windows (XP, Vista, AND Win7) frequently loses the drive, even when "safely remove drive" is selected. Fortunately, Linux can still read the drive (both Ubuntu and OpenSuse were tried)--if you transfer off several files and rewrite them to the drive, Windows will recognize the drive again, though you will need to run a CHKDSK and may have to recover some FOUND files after the CHKDSK.

Other Thoughts: Anything on this drive should be backed up!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Low cost for the size. Good physical size.

Cons: Not a very fast drive. I get about 4-5 MB/s write speed on this drive compared to 20+ on a SuperTalent ExpressRAM Cache. However for reading the drive speed is sufficient, around 14 MB/s.

Other Thoughts: Good purchase if you tend to write less and read more and need the size.

1 out of 5 eggsdead in 2 weeks

Pros: I can't say of any, but it is comparably not that big as other flash thumb drive.

Cons: dead after 20 days.

Other Thoughts: I have quite a few usb thumb drives, and this is the FIRST one that dies on me after getting it in < 2 weeks. I mainly use it to back up a system drive. Today after I copied the back-up to another disk, eject it properly via "safely remove hardware and eject media", unplugged it, plugged it back, and everything is gone !!! since I already took the content out, I tried to reformat it completely and I got an error during formatting after 20 mins... Not sure if I can return/exchange it via newegg.com since I threw out the plastic packing after opened it.

5 out of 5 eggsGOOD Drive

Pros: Great Space for the $$$! I love using it to transfer large vid files from computer to computer, also ran a couple of small applications off of it. FYI, this drive comes formated in FAT32, in order to transfer files larger than 4GB, you must format the drive to NTFS!!!!

Cons: Cap design, never a fan of that - always loose them, but whatever - I will just have to be aware.

Other Thoughts: To the previous user review, format your drive in NTFS, you should resolve all of your pain and suffering and start really getting the usage out of your mobile...

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth it at all **DO NOT BUY**

Pros: 32GB of space (if your able to access/use it)

Cons: Has a cap (which I knew it did), write speed is painfully slow, password protection software stinks.

Other Thoughts: This thing sucks. Writes speed just plain sucks. Even with 32GB of space, and only using 4GB you would think that I would have 28GB left over, but when I tried to copy several video files approximately 6GB a window pops out with an write error message also saying not enough disk space, what the *())&!@#. ***Do not buy***

4 out of 5 eggsDecent drive, slow writes

Pros: Cheap, small and seems pretty sturdy. Big size.

Cons: Not sure how other 32gb compare, but write is pretty slow. Transferring 20gb right now and it is going at 4.7MB/s

4 out of 5 eggsSmall and large at the same time

Pros: Physically smaller than an OCZ 16GB drive.

Cons: Read/write speeds decline tremendously compared to a 16GB drive. No activity indicator (probably due to the compact size).

Other Thoughts: I purchased this same drive (model 61884) from another retailer. It comes formatted as FAT32 (max file size 4GB), and includes some security software intended create a password-protected partition on the drive for sensitive data. Since I only need to store large files (DVDs), I reformatted as NTFS. Formatting went fine. With 4096-byte allocation units, 29.8GB left out of 29.9GB formatted.

Branded "TDK", but the bottom of the packaging it says "Imation Corp."

I understand that read/write speeds decline the larger the drive capacity, and this one is no different. I did some timing tests against an OCZ 16GB, with the following (averaged) results:

OCZ 16GB write speed: 6.8MB/s
OCZ 16GB read speed: 19.7MB/s

TDK 32GB write speed: 4.7MB/s
TDK 32GB read speed: 13.3MB/s

A bit disappointing, equating to ~31% decline in write speed, and ~33% decline in read speed (hence, 4 out of 5 eggs). I suspect speeds for the same size drive might be better from another manufact
