To save every precious, valuable and romantic moment, you may purchase a high resolution digital camera, digital camcorder, or other high-end devices. However, normal Secure Digital Cards (SD Cards) on the market today may not let you capture these moments because of slow read/write speed. Slow read/write speed may cause lag time between shots and result in missing the opportunity to record some of your finest memories.
This A-DATA Turbo SDHC Memory Card (Class 6), rated a Class 6 performance card which means the card has a guaranteed write speed of at least 6MB/s, will reduce time between shots. For those high-end digital devices users, A-DATA Turbo SDHC Memory Card (Class 6) will ensure you capture every “picture-perfect” moment!
Pros: 16GB of Class 6 Storage! Works great without errors in my ASUS Eee. Helps me save space off of my ASUS Eee's smaller SSD drive and wear & tear. Near 20MB/sec read speeds when formatted FAT32. About 15MB/sec read when formatted NTFS.
Cons: SDHC means compatibility with existing cameras and SD readers are limited at this time. Make sure you have an SDHC compatible reader/device/camera before buying this huge amount of space!
Other Thoughts: Write speed clocked in at about 6.5MB/sec sustained. Well within' Class 6 specifications.

Pros: Good quality, good speeds. I can load music and videos onto this card and play them back without any lag for my portable devices. (I can even torrent directly onto the card, wirelessly through my N800)
Cons: Some card readers have difficulty registering the full capacity and will just tell you that no card is inserted, so be sure to pick up a reader that specifically handles 16gb.
Other Thoughts: If you plan on using this in the EeePC et al, make sure to disable memory caching. These types of storage cards (SD and SDHC) can only handle writing or deleting _whole_ files (such as what cameras do). If you let your PC continually write and rewrite data (as in RAM, or caching), the card will become corrupt and unusable. It doesn't matter which brand you buy--they're not meant for OS memory caching!

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Very fast reading/writing..
Cons: none at all.
Other Thoughts: I have this in a EeePc4G for extra storage and I could install basically all my programs to this card and run them just as fast as it will off my SSD-HardDrive. Great price, I went in to the store the other day and found a SanDisk 4GB SDHC class 2 card the other day for about $40, I looked at it and laughed. At $74 for this 16GB card, you can't go wrong. A-data is making a nice name for themselves. Look at reviews on their other products.

Failed after 3 months of use

Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Was on sale when I bought it
Cons: Failed after 3 months
Other Thoughts: I use the SDHC card on my Nikon D90 digital camera. In the past, once a while the camera would show the "CHR" error, I would just take the card out and re-insert it and it would usually resolve the problem. Today I took the camera out to a local air show, and after about 800+ pictures, the camera wouldn't recognize the card any more, and it wouldn't even try to format it. After getting back home, it appears the card can be read from a memory card reader, however even after removing all files from the memory card, the camera still can't recognize it. Formatting doesn't even help either!

Don't Buy Adata!
Reviewed By: HeavenlyCrockpot on 7/14/2010
Tech Level: average - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Cheap, Nice Hummingbird
Cons: Slow, Unreliable, Serious Errors
Other Thoughts: I bought this Adata Card thinking it would be faster and nicer to store a lot of high quality pics and HD videos on. I have a few Kingston 2 GB Class 4 cards that seem to write as fast or faster than this card did.
Here's the real story though: I bought this card after reading many mixed reviews about its reliability. After one weekend of use, it read "Memory Card Error - Card Locked" and I lost all of my pictures. It was no big deal as I was using a new camera and pretty much just experimenting with it anyway. I e-mailed Adata, sent in my faulty card, and after about 3 or 4 weeks, they sent me a new one. I did not ask for data recovery, because that would have taken forever.
The really disappointing thing is that the new card they sent me had similar errors after 3 weeks. I didn't think I'd have the same problem twice in a row. Now it is unusable and NewEgg won't give me a refund since I'm 11 days beyond the 30 day return period.
