1 out of 5 eggsAvoid

Pros: Fast, easy to install, value priced

Cons: Fails Fails Fails

I bought two of these when they were on sale. Did not install or use them for about 3 months. Both drives failed within 90 days of being installed

Other Thoughts: Spend your money elsewhere

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Works a lot faster then expected. Windows 7 pro with a few minor start-up programs will boot up and turn on and log in and load everything up in under 26 seconds every time.

This thing can load games and programs ridiculously fast. For example in Diablo III a friend can teleport to a location, then I can click on his flag to teleport to him and my screen will still load and ill be fighting monsters before his does. We have nearly identical builds except he is using a 500GB 7200rmp HDD.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: Bought this for $102.99

I have read that people have had issues getting OS's to boot off their SSD, with this SSD and motherboard I had no problems or special configuration or BIOS updates that I needed to do for it to recognize it.

3 out of 5 eggsMisleading

Pros: Nice price for storage capacity. Performance matches the specs..... that are listed on their website.... when read very closely.

Cons: I have had no issues in the past with Adata or their products but this one is a little misleading.

Max Sequential ReadUp to 550MB/s
Max Sequential WriteUp to 510MB/s

Uh Im not sure what benchmark tool they used for these numbers, but I tried about 5 and all got the same range of about 200Mb/s read and 100Mb/s write. I tried all controller drivers I could find for my MoBo and the best I can get is 250Mb/s.

I check further down on the specs page and what do I see...
Multimedia Data Transfer (AS-SSD)
Read : Up to 200MB/s
Write : Up to 140MB/s

So what the hell is this? Is it bad advertising or misleading, not sure. Adata site lists same numbers. I had my bud put this in his pc and he gets same results.

Im pretty bummed as this seems to be the max this thing can do.

I will contact the manfacturer on the issue, but it would seem to be hitting the specs it says it should.

Tried again with all the same sw tools for benchmark of the same friend's OCZ Vertex III, and he gets 500Mb/s.

I try my old Intel (320 series SSDSA2CW080G310 80Gb SATA II) and yes I am mad because I get better performance from it (250Mb/s read and 75Mb/s write). I feel hustled, but will learn from this experience.

I bought it too long ago to return etc so anyone reading this make sure if you buy this for its performance contribution... I would highly recommend testing the benchmark once you buy.

I researched a little more and I think it is the Asynchronous NAND Flash technology that is causing it to suck.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate to Previous Review

Pros: RMA'd first unit because S.M.A.R.T. under Windows 8 reported smart errors after two install of Windows 8. I have used the replacement unit have probably written at least 200 gigabytes worth of data and no problems and what a difference in Windows 8 start time and game load time. This makes gaming a joy, you can't be a PC gamer without an SSD, might as well go to consoles then.

Cons: Had to RMA first unit

Other Thoughts: To accompany this, you'll want a 2 TB SV35 hard drive which has a speed of about 200 MB/s, fastest most reliable hard drive. Do full format, and backup all your steam games on this. I got this SV35 for 109 cad + tax. I got the SSD for 100$.

This motherboard is very stable and fast post, and fits better in micro atx case: GA-B75M-HD3 (rev. 1.0). I have had many unstable motherboards. Only con with this one is support for wireless mouse & keyboard via bios isn't the best, but I'll take stability any time.

I have a G530 which is fast enough for 98% PC of games, but no good for dolphin emulator. I am replacing it with E3-1230 which is compatible with most 1155 boards, and has a CPU passmark of 9000 vs 2500 for G530. Has 8 threads and all cpu features enabled, good for virtualization.

As for RAM 8GB DDR 1600 has been more than enough for my months of usage under Windows 8 64 bit.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Basic SSD

Pros: Cheap price for a SSD , bonus for when it's on sale.
Great read write speeds… Good support with quick response.

Cons: SandForce controllers

Other Thoughts: This drive uses Sandforce controllers so expect the possibility of getting a lemon. This happens to any SSD manufacture that uses Sandforce controllers... Samsung, Crucial, PLextor, and OCZ Vector SSD are not running Sandforce hardware so their drives life spans plus good drive to lemon drive ratio will vary a lot less than SSDs running on Sandforce hardware. With that said if you buy a SSDs running SF or any HD you should be backing up your data on a weekly basis.
I’m on my 2nd drive. The 1st drive died after 4 months of heavy use and ADATA replaced the drive with a new drive of the same type. The RMA process was painless and took a couple days to do and then 2 weeks of wait time for the new drive; 2 weeks turnaround is typical… Adata threw in an Aluminum SSD 2.5 mounting plate and software when they shipped back the replacement drive, the drive sold here / Newegg is an OEM drive which means you only get the drive and nothing else,so big thanks to Adata for the free stuff.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat SSD

Pros: Great SSD. See my review on the full retail version.

Cons: None. See my review on the full retail version.

Other Thoughts: For those not familiar, this is an OEM drive, meaning it doesn't come with the retail packaging, 3.5" adapter tray, documentation, etc.

It's just the drive itself, so be prepared to supply your own bay adapter and data cable.

1 out of 5 eggsStay away from ADATA

Pros: I made the mistake of purchasing 5 of these drives. Not bad size for the dollar.

Cons: The first one quit last night after several failures. I regret I did not pay attention to others.
I don't see any phone number to call ADATA. I requested RMA and they emailed a case number to me.
Now my time to suffer.
Again don't by any ADATA drive.

5 out of 5 eggsFast, Cheap

Pros: One of the fastest drives out there. High IOPS, high read/write and low access times. I first saw this drive at 89.00, by the time I bought it it was up to 99.00, now it's up to 109. That's because this drive was also the best deal on Newegg. Even at $109, it's still my first choice for an SSD for desktop or laptop. Put this one in a Windows 8/OpenSUSE laptop and the boot times are really impressive. Thought that was reserved for the Macbook Airs ;)

Cons: There's always the lingering question in my mind of "Who is Adata, and how long have they been in this business?"

And why are their prices so much lower than all the other manufacturers? With great specs?

Haven't owned it that long, will report again in six months or so.

5 out of 5 eggsSuper fast!

Pros: This is my first SSD and I'm glad I bought one! This thing is really fast. Load times on Windows 7 are super fast than putting it on an HDD. You can really see a difference! Really impressed and plus I got it with my $10 rebate. No problems at all!

Cons: I didn't like the packaging. I got it in a bubble envelope. Just makes me nervous, because I don't think it's enough protection for an SSD. Having little protection for it could damage it if it's tossed or crushed the wrong way while it's being delivered. Some of the people on here could have gotten a bad one because of the packaging. It should be packaged in a box instead.
