Other Thoughts: Installed Windows 8 on it on a Lenovo Y580. Very happy with it so far. My laptop came with Windows 8 64-bit standard edition pre-installed but before even turn it on the first time, I removed the original 1TB HDD and intalled this SSD. Downloaded an image for the same OS(standard edition) and installed from there. I am now using the 1TB as storage. This is my first SSD so I can't compare it to others, I just read reviews and specs and decided on this. Really happy I did.

Can't comment on Win 7 boot times as I haven't installed it and don't think I will. After a month I've almost got used to Win 8.

Pros: I have it in a RAID array with an mSata that I bought off Newegg and it flies. Around 520-530 mb/s

Other Thoughts: To the person who wrote the 280 mb/s, it is not the SSD your issue, it is your connector on your motherboard (i.e Sata II connector, this drive goes up to Sata III (500+ mb/s on a Sata III connector)

Pros: This baby is FAST with Windows 7 Ultimate 64. Make sure to load it from the DVD and don't waste time trying to restore from a previous installation. Go with a fresh load. My HTPC boots in freaking 8 seconds!

Other Thoughts: I snapped it into a SYBA SD-PEX40055 PCI-Express and plugged it into my motherboard. This is truly a winning combination. The SATA card boots Windows 7 and runs like a freaking Mercedes sedan.

Pros: No problems running Ubuntu

OK it was me who gave it a 4 egger review. I mistakenly took off an egg because over SATA II it was not reaching its stated speed. So I now give this 5 eggs as it is going pretty fast for SATA II. Hopefully someone can post its SATA III speed.

So stop hating and get back to buying stuff.

Pros: I do not (yet) own this drive. I am writing this to try to balance out the review below where the reviewer takes off one egg because the drive did not reach its rated speed. He clearly states that it was used in a laptop that only has a SATA II bus. The theoretical maximum throughput for SATA II is 300MB/sec. He was getting 280MB/sec. Any time you get 93% of the theoretical maximum in a real world computer setting, you should be thrilled. To reach the rated maximum speed of this SATA III drive, you need a device with a SATA III bus and you need to be transferring a very large file. I expect to be purchasing either this drive or the 120GB Mushkin in a couple of weeks. If I do, I'll update my review after I receive it.

Other Thoughts: I put this in a Lenovo T430 using the restore media to get perfect alignment. The T430 uses a SATA II mini PCI connection. While this drive is specified in the 500 MB/s range it was giving me about 280 MB/s maximum (using Crystal Diskmark 3.0 and ATTO Disk Benchmark). This is still pretty fast compared to the mechanical drive (less than 100 MB/s) but not as fast as specified. So I deduct an Egg.

Pros: Worked perfectly right out of the box, installed in a lenovo y580 laptop. Easily meets or exceeds most full sized SSDs performance at a competitive price. over a month later with constant use it still hasnt slowed down in the slightest. makes ever action on the laptop smoother, and I now never have lag while going through desktop actions.

Cons: none

Pros: Fast. Lots of space.

Cons: This when coupled with my Intel DH61AG motherboard will not resume from sleep or hibernate without crashing. All tests say it is good. I'm a little worried that the DH61AG is the cause, but can't be sure.
