Not sure on the read speed, but read speed is not really a problem for me since I used it mostly for storing documents. Cons: The metal body near the USB end of the drive gets a little bit warm. Because it's on my key chain now. Writes 22 MB/s for large single files using USB 3.0. 8.7 MB/s for clusters of files using USB 3.0. 8 MB/s using USB 2.0. It has a "tunnel" in it that is too small for a normal key ring. I found a thin one that goes into the hole, but it won't come-out because whatever you insert must be straight. On computers that run USB 3.0 this is insane, literally 10x faster than normal. But for some reason on my old computers it's still just as fast, I can't figure it out. Cons: None Other Thoughts: You should buy it, I got it with a rebate so it was dirt cheap, but even if you don't get it with a rebate, it's still worth it, it will save you so much hassle and time transferring files (I use mostly pics and video) 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. With 16GB of capacity, you really should go with USB3. I love the way this drive looks. The kinda iridescent blue got a couple compliments. The aluminum body feels very sturdy too. Cons: Fully detachable cap means it could get lost easily (though it seems to stay on well enough in my pocket).
