Awaken your sleepy PC or build a red-hot system with the Patriot 2GB (2 X 1GB) 500MHz DDR SDRAM Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit. As one of the hi-tech industry’s most trusted manufacturers of memory, Patriot crafted these 2GB dual-channel low latency sticks for the overclocking-, gaming-, or PC-enthusiast in mind. This formidable kit’s easy-to-install design and aggressive 500 MHz processing speed means that even non-techies, who need monster bandwidth to run multiple apps simultaneously, will benefit from these fiery red modules.

Part of Patriot’s Extreme Performance Series, the kit is qualified on both Intel- and AMD-based systems. Expect pulsing time latencies from this duo each and every time without failing, melting, or burning due to the premium heat spreaders that deflect thermal energy away from the sticks’ cores. Don’t compromise value for increased performance, get them both, and give your PC a major 2GB lift!

  • newegg Patriot Extreme Performance Series DDR SDRAM Patriot Extreme Performance PC4000 Eased Latency series DDR SDRAM is engineered to operate at an ultra-high bandwidth of PC4000 at 500MHz. 3 out of 5 eggsNot that happy

Pros: Cheap
Will only run 250mhz on high end (A8N SLI Deluxe) mobos, cannot past 235mhz on low end, even with volt mods, etc.
Cool lookin colors...

Cons: Rebate still hasn't come through after 3 months...Calling today to check.
Compatibility limited
Heatsink is less than what is really required. 500mhz mem runs hot.

5 out of 5 eggsPC4000 at low voltage

Pros: Running at DDR510 3-4-4-8, 1T at 2.55 volts (2.65 in bios- my Abit AN8 Ultra undervolts ram by .1 volt). Fast, cool and stable. Matches well with my Opteron 165 @ 2.81ghz, ram on 333 divider and cpu at 9x312.

Cons: Price went up a lot since early this year. Still cheaper per gig than the Mushkin PC3500 Redline 1 gig kit I purchased from Newegg in August of 2005.

Other Thoughts: DDR1 may be past its prime but will help this system last until DDR3 is mainstream in 2009- I hope!

2 out of 5 eggsVery Very Hot!

Pros: Price of this brand memory is considerably lower than other performance branded (Corsair, Mushkin) DDR 500 offerings. Works well at the advertised speeds if you can keep it cool enough.

Cons: As soon as this memory heats up it starts failing Windows Memory Diagnostic and Super Pi tests. I have the memory running currently at 2.5-4-4-8-1T @ 233MHz mostly stable after positioning a 90mm case fan about 2 inches away blowing across the memory modules. Looking to purchase the Corsair Dominator memory mounted fans to blow cool air down and between the tightly alligned heatsinks of the modules when placed in a dual channel setup.

Other Thoughts: I had to give it a rating of 2 considering the extreme heat issues that I'm experiencing using these modules. I have the memory running at 2.7V as specified by manufacturer. The highest usable speed I have found so far is 233MHz (DDR 466) until I find a better cooling solution. My case has 2x 80mm intake fans, 1x80mm exhaust, and SilverStone 120mm Powersupply fan exhaust and the system temperature hovers around 32C so ambient air temperature should not be an issue.

5 out of 5 eggsMade in America

Pros: MADE IN AMERICA for one, overclocks nicely, i hit in upwards of 550Mhz but i dont wanna push it and burn out my proc.

Cons: I originally bought 2x1GB sticks of OCZ Gold Series EL and paired it w/ the Patriot ram and although they have identical specs, i have trouble running them at much more than 520Mhz and cannot run them at ddr400 because the ocz runs 2.5-3-3-5-1T @ 2.8V. also if you have trouble running this ram at ddr500 on an Asus a8n-sli deluxe, its because this mobo WILL NOT run the 1T command timing at much more than 243-248Mhz before it becomes unstable. but if you know how to adjust your cpu multiplier, u can adjust it around that and keep the cpu speed and get the ram speed

Other Thoughts: Im glad to see such great products from america and not some low-quality company in china. i just wish i bought 2 kits of this in the first place so i could adjust my timings more easily but im fine at ddr500, i'll just adjust my cpu to either 2.375Ghz, 2.5Ghz or 2.75Ghz(amd 4800+).

5 out of 5 eggsCheap/Excellent

Pros: Performs well at rated speed and timings.

Cons: Doesn't overclock a lot over but these are Samsung UCC chips.

Other Thoughts: Not sure why others are having problems...maybe wrong bin or probably user error.

Running them just fine at 255mhz at 3-4-4-8 timings at their rated 2.8v. These are 1GB sticks and do their rated speeds just fine at the right settings.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: Unstable, won't go over DDR500 stable, and I'm on my second set, and have tried both on two different mobos. I've never had such a stubborn set of RAM to play with before. I use now cause I've sold all my other stuff, but it is under spec at DDR490. Beware.

3 out of 5 eggsDFI Expert users beware

Pros: Great Deal for the price. If it works.

Cons: Didn't run at rated speeds. was barely stable at DDR 400 w/ timings of 4-5-5-10. Returned for a refund.

Other Thoughts: Im thinking the cause of the problem was an issue with the dfi Expert board I use. I haven't had any other problems with this board before so who knows...

4 out of 5 eggsWorks fine

Pros: It works.

Cons: I have had problems overclocking the FSB. I don't know if the memory is the problem though. So I'm running it at 200mhz.

I still haven't received my rebate either.
