Great product
- Pros: Fast, rugged and getting more affordable almost by the hour.
- Cons: A bit bulky for my taste. Patriot chose to put the electronics in an aluminum extrusion. Great for durability, but I would prefer a slimmer case.
- Other Thoughts: If you are having a hard time holding onto the cap, just attach it to the loop on the back of the device with a cord.
I am disappointed to see that Patriot has adopted the hard drive industry's way of reporting capacity. In the past, memory (and this device is flash memory) has always been reported in binary terms (1kB=1024bytes [2e10], 1MB=1024kB, 1GB=1024MB and so on). The hard drive industry has always reported capacities in decimal terms (1kB=1000bytes, 1MB=1,000,000bytes, 1GB=1,000,000,000bytes and so on). This device has a capacity of 64,151,941,120bytes (unformatted) which Patriot reports as 64GB. Reported in binary terms this device will store 59.7GB.
SUPER FAST!!!
- Pros: FAST!!!!!! I'm getting a Read Speed 30 ~ 35MB/s and a Write Speed of 17 ~ 25MB/s this thing is fast for me i love it. Thanks Patriot Memory.
- Cons: none so far

Don't buy a USB flashdrive
- Pros: Performs as well as other drives
- Cons: Too bug - occupies way more room than a usb device should; to Patriots credit, they included a usb cable. However, at the price point, you are better off purchasing a usb ssd with both sata and usb connectors - it'll be much faster and not much larger.

Manufacturer Response:Dear Anonymous, I'm sorry that you were unhappy with the size of your USB drive. Although I can't imagine an SSD and this drive being of comparable prices I appreciate your input and opinion. If you have any questions and concerns, please contact us at the address below. Awesome storage and speed
- Pros: 64GB of storage in a space about the size of your thumb (the drive's casing is still larger than most standard thumb drives but I haven't had any issues caused by this yet)
Can copy files to and from it quickly, seems to operate much faster than most other thumb drives I've owned.
Was able to use it as a bootable device on multiple systems (Dell servers/workstations, evga 780i motherboard)
- Cons: The cap has trouble staying on the drive. I wear it on the lanyard which was provided with the drive while I'm at work, and the force of it bouncing around while walking has been enough to make the cap fall a number of times. I just took it off so that I wouldn't lose it.
You can't place the cap on the back end of the drive while it's in use unless you don't have it attached to something. For my purposes, this kind of defeats the purpose of having a cap.
The string which is used to connect the lanyard to the drive is flimsy and started to tear after about two weeks of light to moderate use (mostly just walking around with it around my neck). Today I replaced it with a small metal keychain ring that I use to attach it to a small carabiner that I threaded through the existing lanyard. The plastic on the back end of the drive is durable and this seems to have fixed the problem.
- Other Thoughts: Four stars because it's an awesome device from a technical standpoint, but I feel more thought could have been put into how to secure the device for people who wanted to use the provided lanyard. People who are worried about protecting the USB connection on the end may want to consider looking for a retractable thumb drive (I may find another purpose for this one and purchase a retractable drive so I don't have to worry as much about losing the cap)
Good
- Pros: Reasonably fast, have reformatted for Mac, works flawlessly so far, spent sometime with an iPhoto library on it worked great (took it off for other reasons)
- Cons: As in other reviews, the cap does fall off relatively easily, but I found in most cases would stay secure even in my pocket with car keys.
- Other Thoughts: I solved the cap problem by popping the black plastic piece out of the silver aluminum section, then super glued two strips of paper on either tab, then super glued the plastic back into the sleeve (be sure to remove any dried glue from the sleeve, otherwise it will not stay secure). So far this has worked well and the cap is much much tighter.
