5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: Fast, nice color heat sheild, cheaper than the other "faster" RAMs

Cons: Nothing is idiot proof

Other Thoughts: Intel only supports 1066, so why pay more?
Had to install a driver before windows 7 recognized all 6gb (new build)
Make sure your MOBO is compatible with any RAM u buy!!

1 out of 5 eggsCorrupt

Pros: When the RAM was functioning properly, it ran my PC like a dream.

The color of the sticks is great.

Cons: My RAM has now failed on me and my system is unstable after almost 4 months of ownership. I get a BSOD (0x3b) when doing memory-bound tasks and Windows Memory Diag says hardware failure.

Other Thoughts: I hope I can get a refund or free replacement. This is absurd.

4 out of 5 eggsPatriot DDR3 1066 3x2gb

Pros: Compatible with new Dell Studio XPS 435
Works well

Cons: Lower speed DDR3

Other Thoughts: Just got it and installed it quickly so now I have 9Gb of Ram.

Runs well so far with the new Dell Studio XPS 435.

Will wait to see how it performs before upgrading the other 3 RAM chips since it's Triple channel so 3 is needed!

Ram prices is slowly going up but hoping that it'll level off or drop somewhat later!

3 out of 5 eggsWhat happened?

Pros: Works flawlessly.

Cons: Slow speed does not justify the sudden increase by 70% over the last two months. Why settle for PC-8500 when you can 10666 cheaper?

Other Thoughts: When this was almost 40% cheaper, it made sense for the budget minded to get. Now the price is absurd when you compare to other faster memory.

I was coming back to Newegg to get another 6 gig for "matching" memory. I was priced out of my budget.

Even so, the memory scored a 7.4 on Windows 7 performance rating, which is darn good.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Ice
I'm sorry that the pricing on these modules has become restrictive for you. As the manufacturer we are subject to the same economic trends you are when it comes to components and costs. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me directly.

5 out of 5 eggsplug-n-play

Pros: I wanted to make an non-overclocked silent i7 rig. So I needed low latency, low-voltage RAM. This fit the bill perfectly. Purchased two of these kits and all 12GB of RAM were recognized and utilized immediately. I have been running Ubuntu with Windows in a VM for two months with no problems, no crashes.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: For the price and the speed, it's hard to go wrong with this.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Great ram for the price, Heat spreader comes with it out of the box, DDR3 memory

Cons: Installed this on my Gateway FX6800 and it wouldn't work with the ram that came with the computer. However it's not that big of a deal because I doubled the amount of ram I had before.

Other Thoughts: Great job newegg on the fast shipping and processing.

5 out of 5 eggsquick & simple

Pros: Reasonable price.
Heat spreaders versus competition at similar price points didn't have them.
Lifetime warranty, though this is almost standard for memory today.
No freight charge (why is it called "shipping" when there is not shipping involved from Newegg to purchaser?).
Confidence in knowing it would work with my system, Gateway FX6800-01e.

Cons: Price has come down since I purchased.

Other Thoughts: I expect to get great use of the 9 GB I now have in my system. I will be running Windows 7, Server 2008 R2, and a number of virtual machines.

5 out of 5 eggsDang.

Pros: Excellent ram, great timings, heat spreader included and attached. Excellent price.

Cons: Not 8GB, but the price is lowered accordingly, so it is still a bargain.

Other Thoughts: Good deal, go for it.

Newegg was great and fast.

5 out of 5 eggsGood ram for the price

Pros: Works wonders with the i7 processor and vista. Outstanding heat shield, good for a gaming computer... Best ram i have put in my computer yet.

Cons: Can't think of one.
