Blazing Fast
- Pros: Extremely fast. Definitely fixed the "dithering" issue of the previous Warp drives. I have Windows 7 running on this thing and boot speeds are minimal. I'm very impressed.
- Cons: In a few years, I'm gonna laugh at how much I paid for my very first SSD.
- Other Thoughts: I remember a few years ago when SSD's were just starting to make an appearence, people were saying the SLC disks will last a long time, but the MLC disks might not. However, according to the specs, this should last 50 times longer than my Power Supply. I guess the technology got a big boost since I last checked.
Defective AWFUL service
- Pros: The drive is extremely fast
- Cons: It broke after 3 days. Tech said that they'd had some problems with controller and send it back.
He gave me a tech assist number to put into an online form, and the form sent me a nice confirmation email. It later sent me a series of "DELAYED SEND" emails that were to go the RMA department. Then I was run through hoops to get a human. Finally I was given an RMA number and address. Then, after proving that I actually sent it in (I had sent it certified mail) I was told that the didn't have anymore and I was going to have to wait some indeterminate amount of time.
It's now been 2 weeks since the process has started and I'm going to write a review every single day they hold onto that 10 year guaranteed drive
- Other Thoughts: My only thought is that you shouldn't feel more comfortable with this guarantee. It lost seemingly random files. The titles were there, but the data was gone. Then the drive was gone. SSDs aren't like normal disks where the data is "in there somewhere" and you can just send it off to get the platters ripped. You're just stuck with a very expensive brick - and a REALLY irritating backup process, where you suddenly go back to your old, much slower, hard drive and redo the couple days of data you've lost.
love it.

Failure rate is rising...
- Pros: Drive is very fast. I purchased 23 of them and installed them in ThinkPads used by salespeople out on the road. Salespeople were notorious for ruining rotational drives so these seemed like a logical choice.
- Cons: Just had another one of them fail (that makes THREE). Two is a coincidence, three is a trend. Yeah, they'll probably get replaced via warranty, but that doesn't change the fact that people have lost data and I'm spending way too much time restoring images and swapping HDDs. These things were supposed to make LESS work for me, not more.
- Other Thoughts: I'd say "I guess I'll be buying Intel X25's from now on" but they've clearly had their problems, too. All the manufacturers seem to be pushing out these firmware updates fast and furious to fix mistakes they find after the products are in the field. I guess I was being overly optimistic thinking that these consumer-level SSDs are ready to be depended upon.

Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer, We are sorry for the inconveniences these failed drives have caused you. It's quite possible that the bulk of your 23 drives were from a defective lot. Furthermore we have received great feedback with out latest firmware update. Please don't hesitate to contact support@patriotmem.com to get your drives replaced. We are confident your next rma will be the last one you will have to make, as we have taken the steps to make our sold state drives completely 'solid' drives. Thank You for choosing Patriot Memory. Regards, Patriot Memory Support Team
Bad Drive
- Pros: The drive was good while it was working.
- Cons: About 1 month into ownership it started coming up with bad sectors and data corruption. Drive was bought for a corporation for testing and good thing
- Other Thoughts: Drive was bought for a corporation for testing and good thing only testing as we will not purchase anymore.
-
Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer, We apologize for any inconvenience your failed drives have caused you. We have released an 1881 firmware that should fix a few bugs that was on older firmwares. Please don't hesitate to contact support@rma.com to iniitiate an rma or flash to the newer firmware if the drive is still flashable. Sincere Regards, Patriot Memory Support Team
Everyone deserve one of these
- Pros: Boots faster then my WD 7200rpm HD at the start up and when starting any programme.
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: I've got 2 of these in 2 different machine and both work great. I recommand win 7 for easy setup...Enjoy this is a great product.
