1 out of 5 eggsRebate Not Honored

This review is from: Patriot LX Series 64GB Class 10 Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) Flash Card Model PSF64GSDXC10

Pros: Card Seems to work

Cons: Patriot does not honor rebates. I included all the necessary paperwork (as I've done for many other rebates) and Patriot did not honor Newegg's statement as a receipt. This is the first time anything like this has ever happened to me, and the last time I'll buy anything from Patriot. There are other companies that sell similar items that are more customer friendly than these thieves.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Hank,

Patriot is very sorry that your submission was rejected; please feel free to contact us at patriotcs@helgesonent.com or 866-942-4682 (CTS). Oftentimes it is a simple matter of submission of the incorrect form for the promotion and we are glad to look into the matter for you.

Thank You for choosing Patriot Memory!

Best Regards,
Andre

1 out of 5 eggsAnother Rebate Scam

This review is from: Patriot LX Series 64GB Class 10 Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) Flash Card Model PSF64GSDXC10

Pros: Product is fine.

Cons: Just another one of those companies that hope you either don't do the rebate or they say you didn't submit the correct information. Keep the $5 Patriot. I'll buy another brand next time.

1 out of 5 eggsNever got the rebate

This review is from: Patriot LX Series 64GB Class 10 Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) Flash Card Model PSF64GSDXC10

Pros: It works so far.

Cons: I mailed the rebate form in with all the required docs and got an email back weeks later saying I didn't send the receipt and asking me to send it again. I did and have never heard back from the manufacturer.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst Ever

This review is from: Patriot LX Series 64GB Class 10 Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) Flash Card Model PSF64GSDXC10

Pros: None

Cons: I purchased 3 of these 64GB cards and ALL three have failed. lost data and are locked up. Can't even reformat these. I could see getting a bad cad, But ALL 3??
I guess there was a reason these were priced so well. Unfortunate that I did not even really use them until after the 30 days had already gone past so I could not return them for my money back. I thought about returning them to the Manufacturer but figured they would send me back the same thing and I would never use them because the trust for SD cards from Patriot is gone. I will never run another one of their cards in my camera. i am sticking with San Disk going forward.

Other Thoughts: I hate that I have to give it 1 egg

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well for what I use it for

This review is from: Patriot LX Series 64GB Class 10 Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) Flash Card Model PSF64GSDXC10

Pros: This was a bonus gift that came with my Sony A77M2 and seems to work just fine in it. It can clear the buffer of 25 RAW + JPEG images in about 30 seconds if I shoot at the full 12fps until the buffer is full. Compare that to a SanDisk extreme that is rated at 4X faster and takes 21 seconds to do the same thing. So far this card seems to deliver above what it claims, at least compared to the competition. It also has no issues recording and playing back 1080P video, though I only tested that once.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: I have not seen how this card behaves after it has been filled to capacity and wear leveling starts to take its toll on performance. That is probably where the much higher rated (and priced) cards begin to earn their keep.

5 out of 5 eggsFaster Than Advertised!

This review is from: Patriot LX Series 64GB Class 10 Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) Flash Card Model PSF64GSDXC10

Pros: Faster than advertised speeds! (see below)
Mostly recyclable packaging
Good Price (~20 with combo deal)
5 Year Warranty (According to Patriot's Data Sheet)
http://www.patriotmemory.com/product/specs/SDXC10%20-%20sku.pdf

Cons: None, other than shorter than industry warranty, although 5 years is still very respectable.

Other Thoughts: Patriot advertises (in UHS-1 mode):

READ - up to 40MB/s
WRITE - up to 20MB/s (10MB/s min)

I found higher speeds with my Kingston MobileLite G4 USB 3.0 UHS-II reader! (FCR-MLG4)

ATTO and CrystalDiskMarkX64 v3.0.3 reports (FCR-MLG4), exFAT:

Seq Read - 77.44 MB/s
Seq Write - 42.46 MB/s
512K Read - 38.29 MB/s
512K Write - 10.39 MB/s
4K Read - 5.969 MB/s
4K Write - 0.946 MB/s
4K QD32 Read - 6.742 MB/s
4K QD32 Write - 1.047 MB/s

Not too shabby!
Some of the fastest sequential writes I have seen!

If you have slower speeds, and you were smart, you should know it is your readers fault!

Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 r1.3 (bios F10)
Intel Z68 Chipset
Etron EJ168 USB 3.0 (driver v0.118)
Win7 64 bit

2 out of 5 eggsLiterally Fell Apart After 2 Years

This review is from: Patriot LX Series 64GB Class 10 Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) Flash Card Model PSF64GSDXC10

Pros: Fast read/write speeds & reliable storage. Large capacity.

Cons: Yes, this card is now 2 1/3 years old, but it's spend almost all that time in my digital camera. I've removed it maybe 8-10 times at most over the 28 months I've owned it, but last night it literally fell apart in my hands Both halves of the casing separated causing the tiny write-protect switch to fall to the floor and the actual memory itself to come out of the case.

I have memory cards far older than this that have taken a beating and are still in good shape. This was my first Patriot brand product and it will be my last.

Other Thoughts: I should've paid attention to the short 2-year warranty on this Patriot card. Had I bought a SanDisk I would've had a lifetime warranty and could've gotten a replacement for free.

I carefully glued everything together and it's working for now, but I don't trust it to stay together. I am having to buy a replacement card since I can't rely on this Patriot, so I'm getting a SanDisk with a lifetime warranty.

I won't make the Patriot mistake again.

5 out of 5 eggsPatriot LX Series 64GB Class 10 Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) Flash Card Model PSF64GSDXC10

This review is from: Patriot LX Series 64GB Class 10 Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) Flash Card Model PSF64GSDXC10

Pros: This card came as a part of the bundle when I purchased my camera.

- 64Gb, large size
- Class 10, UHS-1 speeds
- decent build quality
- Doesn't seem to limit Camera FPS on canon 6D

Crystal DiskMark (on a Usb 2.0 card reader - hence the limited speeds)

Sequential Read
Seq 21.37
512K: 20.38
4k: 4.077
4k Qd32: 4.285

Sequential Write
Seq 11.40
512K: 0.432
4k: 1.125
4k Qd32: 0.171

Cons: Doesn't have amazing write speeds; but it meets the specifications in the description.

Other Thoughts: I could only test on a usb 2.0 card reader, this card should definitely get better benchmark speeds on a usb 3.0 SD Card reader

5 out of 5 eggsHigh Quality Device At A Good Price

This review is from: Patriot LX Series 64GB Class 10 Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) Flash Card Model PSF64GSDXC10

Pros: I had to use this in a way one wouldn't (and shouldn't) do for about two months - as a primary hard drive. Guess what? The quality of this product is outstanding, with high read/write rates. I've found it to be nothing but reliable.

Cons: None.
