1 out of 5 eggs2 RMA's Both have issues

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Does not work

Other Thoughts: Well, this is my first review... I bought this on sale so it was cheap and I'm now regretting the decision. Already RMA'ed twice, both times the sticks of memory have been bad causing stability issues in my MBP Pro.

I would avoid if possible.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some bad luck with our memory. Rest assured that all of our memory is hand-tested to ensure quality and reliability. Please don't hesitate to send us an e-mail and we would like to do what we can to resolve this issue.

Thank you for choosing Patriot Memory.

3 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: It's very fast.
It is very affordable.
It is eight gigabytes.

Cons: I cannot tell which of the two modules has the problem, but one of them causes "blue-screens" my Windows 7 laptops.
I have tried it on Dell, Lenovo, and Acer laptops and netbooks. CPUs range from Intel i7 "Q" to AMD-E to AMD C-50 and C-60.
I'm contacting Patriot to see if I get "lifetime warranty" repair even though I sent the UPC code in for a warranty repair.

Other Thoughts: I have never experienced any defective memory from any other brand but "Patriot" memory.
I realized beforehand that this is off-brand but I have not experienced this trouble with other "off-brand" memory.
Food for thought: can you exchange memory when you've redeemed a rebate for it and don't have the UPC anymore?

5 out of 5 eggsit's RAM.

Pros: works like it should, no defects.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: Put the 2 sticks in and they worked. Ran memtest86 on them overnight and it still worked. My windows 7 now has more RAM to put random stuff into (all jokes aside, I did notice a performance increase coming from 4GB). Nothing much else to say.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Fine

Pros: It was cheap and easy to install. It also worked fine the first time I tried to use it. Before I Put this in my computer, the Windows Experience index on my computer was 5.9; after, this RAM upgrade brought it up to 6.9.

Cons: No problems yet. It was a little annoying trying to get the modules out of the package though(most difficult part of the install).

Other Thoughts: After putting this upgrade into my computer, the only thing slowing it down is the hard drive. This RAM is awesome for running VM Ware with multiple virtual machines. I tried running 4 virtual machines at once, and it worked fine. It only took me 5 mins to install the new RAM modules, and it was really easy. It also shipped pretty quickly, but it only had to travel a few hundred miles. Only time will tell if this memory is going to be reliable, but I have no reason to doubt that it will work fine. I wonder if some of the people who had problems might have damaged their modules with ESD, but I guess you never really know.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Both sticks were good. Booted right up, windows recognized 8gigs right away. I have an Asus G60JX with 1st gen i5 in it. I read that it only supported 4gigs, but other places said otherwise so I gave it a shot and it shows 8.

$10 rebate is nice. Even before rebate it was $35, which is cheap.

Cons: None so far

5 out of 5 eggsGood solong its not doa

Pros: Good ram. Pops in and pc recognizes it right away. Gave a nice performance boost to the whole system. Had to reinstall my video driver but thats more a short coming of the chipset and or manufacturer. Still it was an easy fix, just got the latest driver from AMD.

Cons: First set I received one of the moduals was doa. Had to RMA the set (both ram moduals) But Newegg was fast with the replacements. In fact the replacement set took about half the time to ship then the original set.

Other Thoughts: Nothing anyone can do about a doa item. From time to time these things get past quality control. When I sold electronics I remember the average rate of defects in electronics was anywhere from 1 in 8 to 1 in 12 was going to be bad or have problems. Just how it is. But thats why I shop Newegg. The customer service usually makes it all better.

1 out of 5 eggsCausing Shared Video errors

Pros: When it is working it is fast and sweet.

Cons: Randomly will cause graphics card to lock up and crash. Have tested on multiple laptops because the vendor kept taking them back thinking it was a video issue with the laptops. Now I have to go back to them with my tail tucked and say it was a $40 pair of memory modules that caused so much problems and delay.

Manufacturer Response:

DrewCipher,

I'm sorry to hear that you had issues with your memory. Please don't hesitate to send an e-mail and I'll be glad to look into the matter.

Best Regards,
Benjamin
