2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: small black cheap

Cons: upload is as fast as a usb 2.0

Other Thoughts: dont buy if your looking for 3.0 speed

3 out of 5 eggsDecent drive

Pros: -READ speeds: 50mb/s (incredible)!
-Fairly sleek form factor
-I only spent $5 for it

Cons: -Write Speeds: 5mb/s

-CANNOT USE FOR WIN7 INSTALLS: I intended on using this as a Win7 install stick due to its great read speeds. Interestingly, the Windows 7 USB Tool cannot successfully format this stick. All of my other sticks worked fine, including other Patriot drives. Bizarre.

Other Thoughts: Very decent drive overall but I was a bit disappointing that it couldn't be formatted as a Win7 install disk. Apart from mediocre write speeds its otherwise a decent drive

3 out of 5 eggsRead = very fast, write not so

Pros: Read in USB 3.0 drive = 50MB/s
Read in USB 2.0 drive = 28MB/s

Cons: Write in USB 3.0 drive = 5.5MB/s
Write in USB 2.0 drive = 5.5MB/s

Other Thoughts: This drive is not worth paying more for than an USB 2.0 drive of the same size.

3 out of 5 eggsTested in USB 2 port only

Pros: Seems to be constructed pretty solid. For USB 3 the price is pretty good. Good read speeds maxing around 30 MB/s using Atto in Fat32.

Cons: Slower than USB 2 flash drives when used in USB 2 port. The write speeds max at around 6,000MB using Atto for testing.

I also own this Patriot Xporter XT Boost 8GB Flash Drive (USB 2.0 Portable) and it writes speeds are about 2-3x faster 10 MB/s in Fat32 and 15 MB/s in exFat.

Other Thoughts: I would go with as it looks like some was getting usb 2.0 read 32mb write 21 mb. Thats 4 times faster writes on USB 2 than the Pulse model.

The only reason I went with this one is because it was new and no one had any feed back on it and also because physically it is a little bit smaller. Sometimes with my old Patriot Xporter XT plugged in I cant use the USB port next to it because it is so big and bulky it blocks the other USB port.
