2 out of 5 eggsRAM Issues

Pros: -Great size and cooling for decent price
-Doesn't get in the way of my incredibly crowded case
-Easy to install

Cons: Lasted only about a year and change, it's now starting to give me BSOD's and errors in memtest. Even starting to cause some of my games not to work. It's not completely inoperable memory but it's definitely having a serious impact on my computer's performance and is preventing me from running it from time to time.

Other Thoughts: I tried contacting Patriot for an RMA and they said "Well you can send it to us and we'll test it and we'll see what we can do from there." But considering Memtest is already throwing errors at me, I know something is wrong with it. I constantly ask what needs to be done if a replacement is necessary and they keep avoiding the question by saying "We'll take a look and go from there." I'm fairly certain these come with several year warranties but I can't seem to find guaranteed documentation for such warranties.

When I buy RAM I know there's a shot that it's not gonna work out the gate, but I don't expect it to spontaneously start giving me issues after a great year and a half of perfect use. If I send these out, my computer is inoperable for at least 3 weeks since it takes 10-business days (on average from what I've seen on forum posts) to check them thoroughly and have them get back to me and then another 10 business days to process and send a replacement set.

Never had this issue with Patriot before and I'm quite disappointed. Like I said, the RAM itself worked fabulously until just about a couple of months ago. The reason I even gave Patriot a buy was because I had a 4gb DDR3 stick that never once failed me in 4 years of use. I'm hoping this is just a bugged set, but I don't want to buy another set just to be able to use my computer while this are out on repair. Once the situation is handled, I'll update the review.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM Until BSOD

Pros: Worked great for about a year+ and then literally out of nowhere the RAM started giving me BSOD's.

Cons: RAM failed on it's own after about a year+ of good use.

Other Thoughts: Not really sure what prompted this at all considering I never mixed the kit with anything else and I've actually never even moved the sticks after first placement in January of 2014. I'm really hoping that limited lifetime warranty thing is legit considering I didn't pay to "rent" RAM...

2 out of 5 eggsDead After 6 Months

Pros: Good ram until it went belly up

Cons: 6 Months it died. Memory Management BSOD's every 5-10 minutes. Tried testing sticks individually and apparently BOTH are dead. Never OC'd. Never messed with voltage. Memtest confirmed faulty hardware.

Guess I should stick with Corsair and Gskill right?

5 out of 5 eggsGood Memory

Pros: - Fast

- Lots of RAM!!! 16GB is amazing, and I can buy another set to gain a total of 32GB!

- Super heavy multitasking and great for video editing. When using Adobe After Effects I topped out at 12GB usage!

- Slick looking. Black color matches everything else in my PC.

Cons: For some reason it seemed like it would blue screen when the CL was at 9, so I raised it to 10 and it seems to work now. Strange because it is advertised and defaulted to CL 9, maybe it's my motherboard?

Other Thoughts: Overall great memory and I love the fact that I can buy another set and get 32GB.

1 out of 5 eggsGood Memory, Good Price, Bad Service

Pros: The one stick that worked worked very well, had no issues. Fast, great color and a good price (I paid $61.99 after rebate)

Cons: One stick was failing from the start. The video driver kept crashing and recovering. I loaded up memtest, and sure enough one stick was consistently having errors. I started an RMA through Patriot (I guess that was my mistake, should have gone through Newegg). I mailed in the RAM with everything that was asked and have yet to hear anything from them; they received the RAM on 12/26/12. After multiple emails I still haven't gotten a response on what is going on, or even that the RAM was even received. I had to send in the entire kit so I haven't been able to work on my recently built computer for the past couple weeks. Very frustrating.

Other Thoughts: Five egg product, one egg support from Patriot

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I'm sorry to hear that you had an issue with the drive being defective. Please note that we were closed on Christmas week in observance of the Holidays (with the exception of shipping & receiving). If you sent an e-mail during this time frame, this can be a reason why the inquiries were not responded to, or your case is currently in process. For an update in RMA status, please e-mail

Thank you for choosing Patriot Memory!

Kind Regards,
Patriot Memory Customer Care
