3 out of 5 eggsTwo RMAs

Pros: * The heatsinks look nice. In fact, the aesthetics were half the reason I decided on this kit in the first place.

* The RAM has pretty good performance in terms of CAS and speed -- when it works.

Cons: * Quality control seems to be rather poor. On my first kit, 1/2 modules failed Memtest86+. After an RMA replacement, 1/2 modules again failed Memtest86+. I RMAed it again for a replacement. This third kit finally passed several runs of Memtest86+ without any errors.

* The PCB on the RAM varies from kit to kit. My first kit had black PCB with the blue heatsinks, which looked quite nice. But then all of the RMAed kits used green PCBs. This is, of course, not detrimental since you can't really see the PCB when the RAM is installed, but it certainly isn't what's advertised. It's an aesthetic issue.

Other Thoughts: * This is my first time purchasing RAM, so I can't say how these experiences stack up against others. I figured that if I still had a defective kit after two RMAs, I'd just simply return it and get something else.

* I highly recommend running a memory test of some sort as soon as the kit is received. This probably applies to pretty much any RAM kit out there. But just based on my experiences, if you can't afford to take a week or two out of your computer build time to possibly RMA the RAM, you might want to consider a different kit.

* I wonder if the green PCBs are preferentially sent out for RMA replacements, but that's pure speculation on my part. Be prepared to possibly not get the advertised black PCBs.

* Between Newegg's replacement policy and the manufacturer's warranty, you will eventually get a usable kit. But depending on how lucky you are, it may or may not be worth your time. If you are local to an RMA warehouse or don't mind paying nominal shipping fees to send the kit back, one or two iterations could be worth it.

* Personally, I don't quite regret the purchase, since it didn't cost me much to RMA twice, and I got the RAM at a decent price compared to what else was available at this performance level. I was also not in a hurry to get my build up and running, so the delay bothered me only a little. But if I were to purchase RAM for a different build, I'd probably go for something else.

* At the time of this writing, I've only run several successful iterations of Memtest86+ on the kit, which is pretty much all I can do before the Newegg replacement period on this RMAed kit expires (4 days rather than 30). Only time will tell if it runs stably for an extended period of time during regular use. If there are problems, I will update this review accordingly (and probably start to regret this purchase).

5 out of 5 eggs1st time with Patriot

Pros: Works as designed. Installed in an Asus P8P67 Del, works like a charm.

Cons: Should have bought another set when they were on sale.

Other Thoughts: Hoping they go back down in price a bit so I can max my system at 32GB.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks if it works. Take your chances if you want.

Pros: -Motherboard recognized it as 1600mhz right off the bat. No settings needed to change.
-The 8Gb module that did work functioned normally like RAM should.

Cons: Cons:
-3 out of 4 modules didn't work (failed memory test terribly and hindered bootup)

Other Thoughts: Here's the story:

I bought 16 gigs first, 2 8gb sticks. 1 of the 2 was faulty, failing the memtest. So I started an RMA with Patriot but purchased another 16 gigs to use while the others were getting replaced because I had no more RAM laying around and I didn't know how long it would take to get my RAM back. BOTH of those sticks were faulty. That's 3 out of 4... not very good in my opinion. I'm returning instead of replacing now.

-If you get good modules, then you shouldn't have an issue with this RAM.
-If you're okay with RMAing until you get a good pair then you're set with it's lifetime warranty.
- I gave it a 3 but that's only because if it works it works well. I'd rather give it a 2.5 but you can't.

I'm returning both and going with Corsair. Disappointed with Patriot's quality control. I always thought they were a reliable company.

5 out of 5 eggsSnappy

Pros: Great memory kit - got it when it was $84.99 on newegg. I used the kit on my newly built hackingtosh with no issues what so ever.

Cons: A bit high and got in the way of my 1TB drive cable - but I am using a mini ATX board which is really tight. had to move the drive, that's all.

5 out of 5 eggsClick and Go

Pros: This edition of ram is endorsed by Intel to have been tested on all MoBos that use intel chips. I just clicked it in and it went. Not to mention that it looks totally sick. Great ram for the price. Check the benchmarks and reliability... can't beat it. Ordering another set of 16gigs this week!

Cons: None yet...

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Stuff

Pros: Great! I tried patriot out before and was very happy. After trying other companies out to compare I'm back to Patriot and I'm very impressed again.

Cons: none this is exactly what great memory should be like. Perfect dual channel kit unless you want flashy lights on your stuff or huge heatsink fins to get in the way of your cpu heatsink the dreaded battle of the heatsinks.

This stuff runs great without needing to overclock for people that just want to buy something that will get any job done weather you want them to or not.

5 out of 5 eggsMy Dream Come True

Pros: This memory is a dream come true for me.. Runs fast as a rabbit on my new Dell XPS 8500. I purchased these dimms to replace the stock shipped Hynex 12 gig (2x4 and 2x2) which were shipped with my Dell. I am so impressed that I just now ordered another 16 gig matching set, which will max out my 32 gig memory and I can't wait for it to arrive in the mail... My Christmas present to myself and I am soooo appreciative...

Cons: Absolutely none.
