5 out of 5 eggsFollow up

Pros: As stated before awesome ram! Works beautifully still plus i finally got another set to have 32gb.

Cons: Due to me not really thinking about it or doing my homework I can't run 32gb of these at 2133 its currently at 2000, see other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: My processor is still the i5 3470 like my previous review, decided to keep it due to lack of gained performance going to a 3570k or 3770k. I could run this ram at 2133 just fine when it was 16gb i even overclocked it to 2200 no problem, but now that i have 32gb my i5 cant handle it sadly. I would get BSOD every boot up after bios trying to run it at 2133, at first I though it was my motherboard or I got a bad set but turns out it wasn't. i tested all ram slots with both my old and new sets of ram plus memtest and nothing was wrong. My current i5 just cant handle 32gb of ram at 2133, I have however did get it to work bumping the timings and voltage to 11-13-14-36 at 1.57v. I'm pretty sure I could get it to better timings at 1.6-1.65v but i don't think its worth it, so I currently have it at 2000 at stock 1.5v running 10-10-11-27 no problem. So if you have an i5 processor I would recommend getting the 1866 version ram if you want all 32gb of ram and overclock it to 2000 if you want, if you only plan on getting 16gb and never adding more grab these and enjoy! Like I said nothing is wrong with the ram plus i5s are rated at 1.5v at 1600 plus its memory voltage controller can go from 1.5v-1.575v but if you go beyond your overclocking it and not really coverd by intel thats when you get a K processor, so you are sort of making work a tad harder.

Build is the same except:
Cooler: thermaltake nic f3 + mx-4 (oc 3.8 idles 24C)
GPU: EVGA gtx 660 sli (signature 2 + superclocked)
SSD: Crucial M500 240gb for win7, 64gb ADATA is for games now

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome 2133 ram!!!

Pros: -2133 CL11
-Only 1.5v
-XMP ready
-EASLIY overclockable
-Cool red heatsink

Cons: -Pcb is green not black but the heatsink almost covers all of it so you can't even tell but its not that big of a con.

Other Thoughts: When i first set this to xmp in bios it ran at cl12 but just manually set the timings to 11-11-11-30 (if this happens to you) and your golden so don't freak out if this happens to you. I went from 8gb of 1333 to 16gb 2133 and WOW what a difference. I plan on buying another set to max out my mobo 32gb. BUY THIS RAM!!!!

-CPU: i5 3470 (3.6) (plan on getting an i7 3770k)
-Mobo: Gigabyte z77x-ud4h
-Ram: Patriot Viper 3 2133 16gb
-SSD: ADATA SP900 64gb (windos 7 prof+drivers)
-HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2tb 7200rpm
-GPU: EVGA GTX 560 sc 2gb
-Case: Raidmax Super Aoelus
-PSU: Corsair AX850

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: Having never owned Patriot RAM I was pleasantly surprised. Memtest ran 0 errors. Height doesn't interfere with my CPU Cooler.

Cons: XMP auto set these to 1600 but easily set it to 2133 and rock solid after Prime95, Intel Burn test ect.

Other Thoughts: 4770k
ASUS Maximus Hero VI
16g Patriot Viper DDR3 2133
EVGA 770 Dual SC 4gb
Samsung 840 EVO SSD
Cooler Master HAF 922

5 out of 5 eggsRuns As Stated

Pros: - XMP detected by bios
- Price (bought with rebate)
- Memory is fast
- Heat sink is not large (does not interfere with aircooler)

Cons: - nothing yet

Other Thoughts: My mobo (ASUS z87) detects the xmp, but you have to manually select it to run the XMP over the AUTO (auto runs memory at 1600).

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Ram!

Pros: - Fast
- XMP had no issues detecting it
- Heatsink matches my motherboard (Z77A-GD65 Gaming),
- It fits under my custom CPU cooler,
- After the rebate, it will be the same price as a set of 1600!

Cons: At first memtest said the ram was bad, and after having 2 dead sets of another brand, I was just about to have a freakout. However, I forgot that I re-enabled the OC my CPU. After down clocking, the ram passed with it at 1600 and it's native 2133.

Other Thoughts: I had Patriot ram in my first build 5+ years ago. While its retired from gaming and it's now my Mom's PC, its still going strong!

Now to sit and wait for my rebate...
