Pros: Great looking, looks to be well constructed, easy install, has worked well for me since install. No drivers needed for install. Comes with both black and beige faceplates to match your PC

Cons: None to this point

Other Thoughts: This replaced another card reader in my main computer when I upgraded the case. My previous card reader was flaky, recognizing cards sometimes, but was unreliable. This one has been totally solid since installation, the install process was totally simple, just attached it to the connector on the mobo and rebooted. XP SP2 recognized it immediately. The transfer rate, anecdotally, seems faster than other readers I've used.

The construction of this one is much more solid than others I've worked with.

To this point, I'm totally happy with this product and would recommend it to others.

Buyer Beware

Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: less than 1 day

Pros: Unit supports most existing and new memory devices. Dual front panels (black & beige) adds implementation versitility. Simple installation if you have a dual row header style USB connector on the motherboard (most newer motherboards do).

Cons: Rosewill lists a MSRP for this unit of $12.99 on their web site. Newegg is asking $19.99 plus tax and shipping. Product is good, but not good enough to pay higher than MSRP. See: http://www.rosewill.com/product/product.aspx?productId=760

Standard Card reader

Pros: Easy to use, standard card reader. Plug and Play nothing much to it.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: As long as your motherboard has an empty USB header you shouldn't have any issues.

Pros: It works with quite a lot of cards, which is the whole point right?! It reads anything I put into it quite fast and shows up quickly on my interface. You can't go wrong... except for the one con.

Cons: The driver included with the card reader is for anything under XP. Granted that anyone using Vista and XP should not have to worry about that cause the manufacturer actually has the updated driver on their site in the event that you did not just plug your card reader in and it works from the get go.

When I installed it, it worked automatically and recognized not only the cards, but was identified on the system. The only unfortunate thing that I had a problem with, is that I am running XP pro, I had to go to the manufacturer site to get the updated driver to see if anything else was needed or if something was missing, when I used the driver it actually would not load them because it said something about my type of NVIDIA was not compatible.

However, it still works, just without those 'extra drivers' that you might think you need.

Don't let this bother you or change your choice of the product.
