5 out of 5 eggsMakes everything easier!

Pros: It works wonderful and it makes my job so much easier, I'm a photographer and I always have troubles uploading my work into the computer, but all the ports work just fine with my memory sticks, micro SDs and else! it makes it all so easy and quick!

Cons: -

Other Thoughts: The only thing is missing in order to be perfect is for it to be pink haha!

4 out of 5 eggsWorks.

Pros: - USB 2 ports
- USB 3 ports
- Various card formats
- eSATA

Cons: - Should have had eSATAp (i.e. powered eSATA port). Anyone listening
at Rosewill?

Other Thoughts: Haven't tried eSATA yet. Everything else seems to work fine.

1 out of 5 eggsNot good!

Pros: Lots of ports and slots

Cons: USB 2.0 ports do not work. It has ruined my motherboard's USB headers!

Other Thoughts: I plugged in all the connectors and powered up my computer. Eveything worked fine except for the USB2.0 ports. I tried them all. I unplugged my case's front usb port from the header because I knew that port worked. I plugged the Rosewill into that port....it didn't work. I plugged the case's port into the other port (the one the Rosewill was plugged into), and when I plugged something into, it said device not recognized. I unplugged the Rosewill and plugged the case port back into its original header...it did the same thing. I checked the device by plugging it into the rear ports, and it worked fine. Now I have no good USB2.0 headers on my motherboard! THANKS ROSEWILL!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! I am in the middle of trying to get replacement that works. Will update as necessary.

1 out of 5 eggsKind of works,

Pros: USB 3.0 and ESATA appear to work

Cons: The USB 2.0 has issues. Most of the time the card reader will work, but its not 100%, more like 9 out of 10 times you insert the card and it will read it. The real issue is that it bounces on and off the USB bus every 5 mins or so. Gets very annoying to hear the USB bus re config constantly.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid

Pros: Fast when it works. Fits nicely in front of my radiator which takes up part of the 5" bay.

Cons: The first one I got started to read my SD card then froze up. USB 2.0 was not working right either. After fidgeting around with it, it turned out that if the power cable was plugged in, the cards and USB 2.0 would not work. After 12 hours in that configuration it stopped reading until I rebooted. Needless to say I had to return it at MY expense.

The replacement part behaved exactly the same way, however it seems to be working on the USB 2.0 ports without the power plugged in, so I will leave it this way.

Other Thoughts: Go with something cheaper if you don't need the USB 3.0 support.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: USB 3.0, cards, and esata all work.

Cons: I cannot get the usb 2.0 ports to work. I have tried multiple headers that are known-good with my case-ports, still nothing.

Pros: usb 3.0 and 2.0 work haven't tested esata yet.

Cons: card reader shows up but want read any kind of card at all.

2 out of 5 eggsCard reader with a death-wish

Pros: The brushed metal looks good, number of USB ports including USB 3.0, 5.25 form factor is hard to find with this many card/port options.

Cons: This is an appalling piece of garbage. The fit and finish is so far out of whack it's dangerous to use. It is extremely difficult to get SD and CF cards into place so they read; there are enough gaps that they could conceivably fall into the unit if you insert them at the wrong angle, which is very easy to do.

I was only able to use the CF reader once. The next time I tried to put a card in, it went in at an angle, and wouldn't read. I tried to get it to seat fully into the slot, and the socket sheared off of the PCB. Now the CF socket is hanging by a few tendrils of solder inside the unit.

It takes dozens of tries to get Micro SD cards in correctly. The CF slot disintegrated. The black color is darker than any black computer case I've ever seen, so it probably won't match.

Other Thoughts: Inserting SD or CF cards into this thing is an undertaking. The sockets are flimsy and misaligned.

1 out of 5 eggsAbsolute Garbage! smoke everywhere!

Pros: None.

Cons: Buy this if you wanna toast your expansive motherboard!
smoke ribs?

Other Thoughts: This garbage almost ruined my $450 mobo! I am building a gaming pc. I connected everything perfectly. power on and this garbage started smoking! smoke coming out of the box and everything! Please do not buy this. Roswill do not QC their product after the production. I'm also disappointed at newegg for carrying such low quality product. If my msi gaming 9 ACK mobo was toast, who was gonna pay for the damage? exactly! don't risk your build. Stay away from this low quality product. I give Zero star. Maybe they should name the product "smoke box" and give it Free with weber grills bc it's not worth putting in the computer!!!
