5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good RAM. They are running as advertised and have not given me any problems.. seems to run CoD4 and SC2 beta just fine.

Cons: None that I could really say or see.

Other Thoughts: These are better than the Kingston HyperX 1066 I had previously.. I had to return those cuz I couldnt get them to run at advertised speeds, no matter WHAT i did. Even called technical support, played with the settings they advised and still could not get them to run at 1066. And no, i did not overclock the CPU.

Of course, Newegg, with their outstanding customer service, switched these out for me, with absolutely no down time allowing me to install these first, and then return the Kingston's after.

5 out of 5 eggsMushikin Quality Comes Through Again!

Pros: Ok here is HOW you set this RAM up. Your settings may vary, but that depends on your Proc, and HT FSB. No matter what baord you use, these are the proper settings without raising voltages.

1. Set your timings to manual CAS (5) , man RAS, (5) man RAS2-Pre, (5), TRAS, (Auto) The TRas MUST be set to Auto, for the mem to correctly understand the CPU multiplier. DO NOT Adjust the Voltage, It does NOT need higher voltage, Nor does the CPU!!! Set the Bank Cycle: 24, 2T. ( Auto ) Again.

3. Now Adjust your HT Freq, I set mine at: 260 w 13.5x260 HT. Multi ( Max ) On this Board. ECS 780G. Any higher the mem will freak out. Why? It's now beyond the rated Jdec standard of 533 Mhz. The system will NOT boot, and you'll have to reset the BIOS.

Con't

Cons: Cont'

4. This will allow Dual, Unganged, this will also adjust your memory clock frequency automatically, Just the way it's intented to work.
5. This will set your mem to 520 Mhz 1:2
6. I am Using an AMD Sempron 2.7 AM3 $32 Dollar Proc.
7. This sets the Proc at 3.510 Ghz, and a 2600 Mhz FSB!8. The trick is to NOT overclock your Mutiplier beyond what the memory Freq is set to, in this case 1066 ( 533 Mhz ) I struck a nice ground with these settings and it's ROCK solid.

Other Thoughts: Northbridge AMD 780G rev. 00
Southbridge ATI SB750 rev. 00
Memory Type DDR2
Memory Size 2048 MBytes
Channels Dual, (Unganged)
Memory Frequency 520.0 MHz (1:2)
CAS# latency (CL) 5.0
RAS# to CAS# delay (tRCD) 5
RAS# Precharge (tRP) 5
Cycle Time (tRAS) 18
Bank Cycle Time (tRC) 24
Command Rate (CR) 2T
Uncore Frequency 2600.0 MHz
Fire UP CPU'z and Marvel at your new System Settings.

4 out of 5 eggsNice sticks

Pros: Runs cool and adept, nice timing/price ratio, looks cool.

Cons: DDR2 timing is fast and speed has upgradeable path, but no upgrade path to DDR3 technology. Has tiny voltage span ... 2.0 - 2.1 volts.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks...but stubborn

Pros: Excellent. Marginal speed increase over ddr2 800. Worked once i got it ironed out.

Cons: Installed on a gigabyte board and initially it didnt read as 1066 but as ddr2 800. Changed the timings to what they should be.

Other Thoughts: Problems with the timing are more than likely mobo related so rating is not affected. Newegg shipping, as always, was on point and i had my computer built three days after ordering it.

4 out of 5 eggsOK memory

Pros: Works at avertised speed. Looks good.

Cons: Had to be manually set to speed and etc. Was not fully reconised by motherboard gigabyte MA785GM-US2H at first.

Other Thoughts: Can not be set below 5-5-5-15. Not a big deal for most. Buy DDR2 1066 first beacuse the difference from DDR2 800 is not noticeable by humans so not a real upgrade from 800 if you plan on doing so.

4 out of 5 eggsOK memory

Pros: Runs at the advertised speed and voltage. Looks nice. Works with no problems so far.

Cons: Had to set timing manually on my gigabyte MA785-GM-US2H. Was first read as 5-7-7-24 @ 1.8 volts??? Can not be set below 5-5-5-15. Not really a con to most.

Other Thoughts: Honestly my G-Skill DDR2 800 with lowered timing 4-4-4-12 and and a slight bump in voltage seems just as fast or even faster at times. I know this is my imagination but it was a waste of my money to upgrade to this memory. Buy 1066 first or just stay with what you have, the improvement in speed from DDR2 800 or even 667 is not humanly noticeable.

5 out of 5 eggsMushkin DDR@ 1066

Pros: Mushkin Quality. Used this memory on a Gigabyte G41-ES2L w/ Celeron E3200 to clock it to a 1066 fsb resulting in a 3.2Ghz Wolfdale Core 2 @1066 5-5-5-15 Latencies. It just screams. 49.00 chip,60.00 Mobo,54.00 Ram This Mushkin blackline works on Gigabyte No Worries. I have built over a dozen of these little beauties for less than the cost of a retail Wolfdale 3.2 alone. Only use the Mushkin for flawless performance.

Cons: Free Ship means DHL. DHL is the worst shipper on the planet. Expect to receive it in 7 days. The DHL tracking number is only good from the newegg warehouse to the mailbox DHL drops it in. I don't understand why Newegg doesn't just mail it USPS themselves, don't they receive US mail? 3 days USPS mail from New Jersey to Fl. 7 days with DHL. So just wait.

Other Thoughts: Great Memory, Good Price, SLOW,SLOW,SLOW shipping. I guess you can't have it all.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's pretty fast

Pros: Superior to my other ram, but doesn't seem as fast as it should be.

Cons: Not sure if this is something to do with my mobo, but CPU-Z tells me the max bandwidth of this ram is "PC2-6400 (400 MHz)". Isn't PC2-8500 suppose to be 533 MHz? Just wondering if the wrong kind of ram was sent to me. That is a possibility since holiday shopping is going on for Newegg.

Other Thoughts: The RAM was on 360 MHz before doing any overclocking. I've overclocked the DRAM Frequency to 463.3 MHz stable. PC restarts when trying to clock past 480 MHz. Why do I even need to overclock it? I don't think this is PC2 8500. What can I do about this?

Manufacturer Response:

Greetings,

Mushkin Enhanced products come with an SPD programmed at the highest JEDEC standard at the time of their release. This is to ensure a trouble-fee first boot, so your computer may post at 667Mhz or 800Mhz. Simply change the memory settings in your BIOS to match the rating for the module and it should work just fine.

For further assistance, please visit our forums at forums.mushkin.com

Thanks!
