5 out of 5 eggsWorks fantastic

Pros: Simple, good, stable ... if you know how to built your computer and if you are looking for good, reasonable priced memory - here it is. After 2 years - no issues at all. This is NOT for "tuners" or "overclockers". Works with AMD Vishera 8320 16GB on board 4 x 4

Cons: none

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsHad a defective stick. Mushkin replaced.

Pros: Two sticks for decent price. One worked great the other didn't but I wasn't able to test it until after 30 days. No NewEgg return at that point but Mushkin stood behind their product and replaced if I sent the stick back.

Cons: One stick was bad. Was replaced with the same size, but lower quality on the Mushkin line. Not their Silverline series but the product below.

1 out of 5 eggsFaulty from day 1

Pros: I'm sure It would work great if it worked at all

Cons: When I built my computer I was a bit of a novice but I followed the instructions and watched the newegg video on how to build your pc. Because I'd never built my own computer I was terrible at testing in troubleshooting when I ran into problems. When I booted my new computer for the first time and stated using it everything seemed fine. But all of the sudden I would start to get blue screen, crashes, restarts, the mouse would be unresponsive, etc. I figured I must have done something wrong because I was so new. Now, after just enduring it and hard restarting my computer whenever I would run into these issues I finally came across people with similar issues on some online forums. They recommended memetest.org. I ran the program and sure enough, I had found my problem. Its too late now because its been so long but I've learned a hard lesson.

2 out of 5 eggsSurprised By a Bad One

Pros: Seemed like a solid performance choice

Cons: One of the set turned out to be bad.

Other Thoughts: I had this set in a machine for quite a while and I couldn't figure out why the machine wasn't stable. Spent a bunch of time fighting with it and since it was my girlfriend's computer after 6 months of fighting with it I built her a new one. Fast forward a few months and I used the RAM in a new box build. Different set of problems but still unstable. Gave it to a pro who could spend the time to debug it and sure enough 1 of the RAM DIMMs was bad.

I've bought Mushkin in the past, I was very surprised.

2 out of 5 eggs25% Defective

Pros: Most of the sticks I purchased worked fine.

Cons: One out of four sticks is bad. It is restarting my wife's computer weekly, pull out the bad stick and the computer is working fine except being slow because it is low on RAM now.

Other Thoughts: Unfortunately it took me quite a while to narrow in on the problem. We'll see how good the customer service is at Mushkin and post an update. After all, the rating is for the product and service received.

5 out of 5 eggsNot Happy

Pros: This is in regards to my previous post with same title regarding the memory. Found out it was not the memory or the PSU. I have a real flight simulator and the USB connection on the controller for some reason caused my system to reboot. The motherboard has partial USB boot to let me use the mouse and keyboard before going into windows.

Cons: none

2 out of 5 eggsNot Happy

Pros: None

Cons: None at the moment and nothing against this RAM. I am very disappointed in New Egg. that they would make this RAM part of a combo deal and it is not compatible with the board. At first I thought it was the power supply because the system would reboot as it went into windows. I took an old Antec 430W PSU out of my daughters computer and tried that with same result. I took the RAM out the same system which is on the compatibility list and put into my new combo and was able to and was able to go to max performance in the BIOS and is it booted up fairly consistently with it only rebooting on occasion. At this point I have to believe the 430 watt PSU might be a little light for what I'm running causing the occasional reboot but I'm making progress. Oh, I forgot to mention the RAM provided with this combo I had to set at the energy saving setting in the BIOS (as low as it goes) and it still rebooted repeatedly. So, in short the 2 eggs are for New Egg and the the RAM. I realize you have the little disclaimer in your combo deals that you are not responsible for compatibility issues but come on. I guess I learned a lesson lesson with this one to check the compatibility lists available on line before ordering. It's not much of a deal when you have to go spend another $170 to fix a problem that can easily be avoided.

Other Thoughts: I ordered another PSU (just in case) and (compatible) RAM for my combo and yes through New Egg. They still have the best customer service and prices. I will let you know how it turns out.
