5 out of 5 eggsNice upgrade for my machine

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model 998770

Pros: Well made
Plug in and go

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This was an upgrade to my first & current PC build from 2010, Mushkin Redline 6GB kit was used for that build originally and now run along with this kit to make 18 gigs total. May have to pick up another kit to replace the Redline and make it 24gb.

Only good experience with Mushkin, as I also replaced my older SSD boot drive to one of their Reactor's.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for choosing Mushkin.
We appreciate your feedback and support.

5 out of 5 eggs5 years and still going strong!

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model 998770

Pros: Two kits for 24GB at stock clocks (was overclocking for about 2 years!)

Cons: None, at all! Perfectly capable of stable 1600, need better cooling for 2133 MHz though

Other Thoughts: Used these back in 2010 for by best build to date:
-EVGA X58 SLI MoBo
-Intel i7-970 (6 core)
-24GB Mushkin DDR3-1333
-2x 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200 + 1x 2TB WD Caviar Black + 32GB SanDisk Easy Cache
-1GB GTX550ti SLI (x2) - Now a single 4GB GTX760
-800W Gold Corsair PSU
still going strong!

5 out of 5 eggsSolid product decent price

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model 998770

Pros: I have been using these sticks for a while now with my machine running 90% of the time and have not had any issues.

Cons: Most machines are able to handle much more ram than 12GB of ram now.

5 out of 5 eggsGood RAM so far

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model 998770

Pros: Great ram updated from 8gb of GSkill 1066 ram to this set and it has been a great help especially with solidworks. I'll definitely buy another 4gb stick later so I'll have 16gb instead of just 12 but that will be later on. Also I have these overclocked to 2133 with my timings set at 10-11-10-28 and it seems to be completely stable. Also I really love the heat sink mushkin put on these I prefer the look and the low profile and it disperses heat quite well.

Cons: None yet! I just wish I could've gotten 16gb for what I paid for 12gb. Maybe one day computer hardware will be a bit more reasonable.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked great

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model 998770

Pros: All sticks worked out of the box and passed memtest.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: Bought for homelab ESXi host. Works like a charm, plan on buying another set of 3 x 4GB to up the box to 24GB in the future but no need at this time.

5 out of 5 eggsYup, it's RAM.

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model 998770

Pros: It's been working great for more than a year now. I added a single to this three pack to go to 16 GB in what became my new computer.

Cons: None, really. It's RAM that's been working perfectly.

Other Thoughts: Sometimes there isn't a whole lot to say. :)

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model 998770

Pros: I am running Windows 7 Pro x64 on a Liquid-cooled HP Z800 Workstation with dual Xeon E5645 CPUs (yeah 24 logical cores!), 4 of these mem kits (49.5GB), and an AMD V5900 Graphics Card. I am an engineer and use this machine for FEA Simulations and CAD modeling so it definately gets a workout. The memory (except for a couple issues) is amazing, no install or OS recognition issues, just plug and play.

I figured I better write a review since there doesn't seem to be too many people out there with this type of system. Also, stay away from the Blackline on this machine (and any others with a heatsink that extends much past the top of the module) as it will NOT fit under the fan assembly because of the taller heatsink. I would say that their is VERY LITTLE clearance between the fan and this memory but the fan assembly does lock in and I've had no problems.

Cons: I have had to RMA a couple sticks, 1 module was DOA (RMA'd with Newegg easily)and another just died on boot after a few months (RMA'ing with Muskin painlessly) which hopefully explains my rash of BSODs. Fortunatley being 4GB down isn't that big an issue while I wait on my replacement.

Other Thoughts: If you are running one of these machines I recommend the Silverline 998770. I have had to RMA a couple of sticks but 2 bad sticks out of 12 isn't too bad for me. Also Mushkin's Service is GREAT and they seem to really care about their customers being taken care of QUICKLY.

1 out of 5 eggsnot booting

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model 998770

Pros: the heat spreader is pretty

Cons: Can't get my gigabyte mobo GA-X58-USB3 to boot with this memory, although it boots fine with the cheaper Kingston value RAM. Tried tuning the BIOS memory parameters, without any more luck.

Manufacturer Response:

Greetings,

Please feel free to get in touch with us at support@mushkin.com or at our forums linked below! We'll gladly work with you to try and get this RAM set up properly or replace it if it's defective.

Thanks!
