Pros: inexpensive, fast.

Cons: Unacceptably high failure rate. bought 3, 2 failed (not visible in bios) in 1st year, one of the replacement RMAs failed 6mo later.

Other Thoughts: save yourself the trouble & buy a samsung, intel or crucial.

Pros: Worked fast when it worked - had Win 7 loaded on it and boot times were great.

Cons: Died after about three months

Pros: Still, since christmas 2010, operates at around 10 to 15 megabytes under max reads and writes and the ssd has been 70% full for the past 8 months straight.

The obvious ssd advantages that chances are you have already learned about vs the hdd world.

PRICE per gig in this high end sata II ssd

Cons: Price lately on THIS sata II model vs the same sized Chronos deluxe model.Why is this drive priced almost exactly the same?

Shouldn't this sata II callisto deluxe model be a good amount lower, at least 40 bucks lower?

Other Thoughts: Rick Soutouras ( I don't have time to look through my emails years ago when I last spoke with him to find his correct name spelling. Sorry sir. Nothing personal) was EXCELLENT in giving me presales customer support answering all my tedious questions about this ssd before I took the ssd plunge for the first time.

He is an asset to Mushkin.

Phanteks is another company I have had the pleasure of testing their presales support with and will soon purchase the phtc14pe cpu cooler from right here at the egg for my 8350 build hopefully coming up soon. Phanteks has answered both of my motherboard compatibility questions in less than 24 hours with thoughtful and professional responses just like mushkin before and after the sale.

Get this drive if you have only sata II connections. Otherwise go ahead and pull the purchase trigger with the Chronos deluxe. That one is the best performance:price ssd ratio that I can find as of writing this review.

Pros: $/GB were really good at the time I bought it.

Cons: Not SATA III, but for me that wasn't a big deal since my controller is SATA II.

Other Thoughts: Good drive for someone with SATA II controller. This is my second Mushkin SSD and I haven't had a single problem with either.

Pros: Fast snappy performance in a late 2009 macbook. I think read and write were both over 200MB/s but I forgot the exact numbers.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: The genius bar makes me sad. The SSD from newegg makes me glad.

Pros: Very fast, light weight, cool, silent, low power usage. Bad drives generate income for the ailing post office.

Cons: After seven days no computer could see the drive. It's as simple as that.

Other Thoughts: As many SSDs as are made a few are bound to be bad or on the edge of failure. The consumer is the test bed for most of todays electronics since testing all of them at the factory would take to much time.

Newegg was out of stock for a replacement SSD. The refund came quickly.

+ Good speed on SATA II ports (for those of us not rocking 6GB/s)
+ Solidly built
+ 36 month warranty

Cons: - Sudden and complete failure @ 22 month mark, simply disappeared from BIOS never to return
- Replacement drive lacks any sort of screen printing/branding/identifier that the original drive sports. It's simply a dark grey, brushed metal case with a sticker on the underside with part numbers and such.

Other Thoughts: I submitted my RMA request to Mushkin via email late Thursday evening. First thing Friday morning I received an email back approving my RMA once I provided proof of purchase. I had the option of sending my defective drive to them and they'd send me the replacement upon receipt -or- I could do an "advanced" return where I essentially purchase the replacement drive and they refund me the full cost upon receipt of my defective drive. I noted that their RMA address was listed as Pflugerville, TX which is about 90 minutes away. They allowed me to hand deliver my defective drive and I got the replacement immediately.
From failure to replacement drive in my case was roughly 18 hours! No one ever likes to have a drive fail on them, but it happens. When it does, ALL companies could learn a thing or two from Mushkin re: customer service.

Pros: Good price for the size, if I can get it to work

Cons: Not working yet. See Other Thoughts below.

Other Thoughts: I swapped this drive into my laptop, and wanted to do a fresh install of Windows 8. With the drive connected, the computer doesn't get past the BIOS splash screen. With the drive disconnected, I checked that the BIOS was set to use AHCI for the SATA controller. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. I think I may need to update my BIOS. I hope I don't need to return the drive.

Pros: Easy to install. Runs awesome with OSx Snow Leopard on it. Computer runs better than it did when I first bought it.

Cons: None as of yet.

Pros: Fast dependable solid drive! (no-pun intended)

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: If it is possible/feasible I would recommend one of the newer SATA III Muskin SSDs as they are twice as fast.

Mushkin has not let me down yet! I maintain three rigs that are over 1.5 years old, each was built with two Mushkin SSDs in RAID-0 and have had no problems yet.
