3 out of 5 eggsUpgrade?

Pros: Proved to be a real upgrade to my system. Looks nice too.

Cons: Computer crashed when i set mem speed to ddr3-2000, running stable at 1800. Really upset I can't get the speed I paid for.

Other Thoughts: Running First edition i7 Extreme on asus rampage extreme II with a wd320, win7ult x64 and hd7750. previous ram was 6g balistix ddr3-1333. using a tough power 12kw supply, just cleaned out the case and fans in the antec 1200.

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work for me

Pros: 12 GB good memory density

Cons: Wouldn't run as advertised. Could only get it to run at 1866 at 9-11-9-27 @1.65v.

5 out of 5 eggsMushkin Quality

Pros: Awesome 12gig kit currently running @2160 on stock timing and voltage. I'd expect no less from Mushkin. Replaces a Corsair Dominator 6gig kit. I just needed more headroom for editing HD image content. Hopefully this will prolong replacing my x58 rig for another year.

Cons: No problems so far. Just wish they made a 24gig kit for x58 boards.

Other Thoughts: Foxconn Quantum-Force BloodRage required bios p11 to correctly make use of the new DIMMs.

Pros: Its very high quality and versitile. Currently have it set at 1804mhz with no trouble and holding stable as a rock. :)

Cons: No cons.

Other Thoughts: Had to do a overclock on my i7-950 but that's not due to the RAM and also no trouble because I already had my processor overclocked beore I bought this memory. Great set of RAM.. :)

5 out of 5 eggsFLAT OUT THE BEST RAM FOR THE $$$ !!!

Pros: The BEST RAM for the money out there. Mind you, I'm an UNDERCLOCKER (UC). It's where you use less power/voltage but get far more performance than OC'ing will NEVER get you; basically the "less is more" theory kicked into action on your PC. Utilizing that type of reserved OVERPOWERING performance through UC'ing, you absolutely need to have RAM that WILL HOLD IT'S OWN when you need it. Mushkin is that RAM - AND ALL of their RAM is matching; even if you buy several separate kits. Now this kit (Model #998991) is the EXACT same kit as (Model #993991) and I bought 3 of those 16GB kits for a total of 48GB for my SR-2 Hackintosh system setup that has allowed me (again thru UC'ing) to be the 2nd fastest system thru using GeekBench at 36,582 with a Hackintosh setup on a PC. The first fastest system was done through another UC'er that actually taught me how to tap into the "hidden" power that most all PC's have available to them. Using the right matching RAM is vital, which is why I use Mushkin !

Cons: None that I know of...

Other Thoughts: Here's my current BIOS settings for my 48GB of RAM: 8-10-8-26; just a notch down from the standard 9-11-9-27 that is spec'd out for these sticks. Again, AMAZING RAM !!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: I brought the memory up to 2021 Mhz, it was stable all day at the specified timings of 9-11-9-27 and a voltage of 1.64. With my current setup I’m running it at 1925 Mhz with 8-10-8-26 timings. Also ran it at 2009, 9-10-9-27 timings, 1.64 volts before updating my old BIOS and had no problems.

Cons: The memory does what it says so there are no real cons, but at 2033 Mhz, 9-11-9-27 timings, 1.64 volts it was unstable and at 2045, 9-11-9-27 timings , 1.64 volts windows wont even boot up. Thats to be expected though since it is advertised as 2000 Mhz memory.

Other Thoughts: 4 year old system except memory and SSD's
MB: ASUS P6T Deluxe
CPU: Intel Core i7 965 XE @ 3.84 Ghz (160 x 24) 1.4125 v
QPI @ 3.84 Ghz (7.68 GT/s)
MEM: Mushkin Enhanced Ridgeback 12GB (3 x 4GB) @ 1925 Mhz, 8-10-8-26, 1.64 volts
HDD: 2x Velociraptor 10K RPM 300GB in RAID 0 (600 GB) for OS
SSD: 2x Verbatim 256 GB in RAID 0 (512GB) for games
Video: 2x EVGA 2GB GeForce GTX 550 ti in SLI (GPU @ 1000 Mhz MEM @ 2404 Mhz)

5 out of 5 eggsOverclocking Champion

Pros: Works from Day 1. Stable and overclocks like a champ in both timings and frequency.Got mine to run @ 2155mhz without issues and at its default timings. At 2000mhz, you can even lower the timings to 8-9-8-24 with no problems. As always, Mushkin build quality is topnotch. I paired this kit with an Asus Rampage III Extreme and a Core i7 930 dialed all the way up to 4.4ghz with no stability issues.

Cons: Unfortunately NONE.

Other Thoughts: Mushkin modules have been very consistent with both performance, reliability and stability with their kits. These triple channel modules just work. No fiddling, no messing around. I'm not sure if these modules are still made in the USA, but if they are...keep 'em here coz I believe the quality control done for these RAMs is highly commendable.

5 out of 5 eggsGotta love Mushkin, great kit.

Pros: Replaced Mushkin Redline 1600mhz 6gb kit with this 12gb kit and my system seems slightly snappier, I am running my set at 1866mhz 8-10-8-27-1T 1.63v (see other thoughts for explanation). The quality of Mushkin is top notch and is American made. This kit was very easy to install and Win 7 x64 recognized all 12.28gb.

Cons: Nothing bad about the RAM itself.

Other Thoughts: My i7-950 (X58 platform) doesn't have the IMC to run this RAM at 2000mhz, the amount of VTT needed for MY CPU to run it this RAM at spec is over 1.5v THAT ISN"T THE FAULT OF THE RAM (sorry for caps just want that to be known).

I have had the kit for less than 2 days but I did fiddle with it for a good couple hours trying to get the IMC to boot and it took +350mv for the VTT which is over 1.55v to boot into windows, start Linux and then get a BSOD x124 (which means either core or VTT voltage) I got the same BSOD at stock and with a stable OC. I also tried the XMP-1 profile, which didn't work either.

With that said I am extremely happy to have this kit as it will be going in future motherboards.

I highly recommend this kit even if you can't run it at spec with an X58 CPU it is worth it for the quality and to support an American Company. Plus not having to worry about RAM space is a plus.

Specs:

Mobo: Evga FTW3 X58
CPU: I7-950
VGA: MSI R6970 Lightning
SSD's
