Positioned at the intersection of performance and value, Chronos SSDs provide next-generation SSD responsiveness by utilizing asynchronous NAND Flash technology. Say goodbye to rotational hard drive sluggishness by adding a Chronos SSD to your system today!

  • newegg Industry-leading Performance Driven by the second generation of SandForce SSD controller (SF-2281), the Chronos Series is designed and built to unleash the full potential of the 6Gbps SATA III interface. The Chronos pushes the limits in both sequential and random data transfer rates, significantly improving your productivity, gaming, multimedia, and overall computing experience.
  • newegg A Superior PC Experience In addition to maximum performance, a Chronos SSD upgrade promotes cooler, quieter, and more energy efficient conditions compared to traditional mechanical hard drives. With no moving parts, SSDs provide peace of mind with their superior durability and reliability. Chronos series SSDs work in perfect harmony with next generation platforms and operating systems to deliver the ultimate storage solution.
  • newegg Trim Support The Chronos Series SSDs offer native TRIM support featured in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. Designed to maintain the performance of SSD at an optimal level over the lifetime of the drive, TRIM functions by actively deleting invalid data from the SSD’s memory cells to ensure that write operations perform at full speed. Since a memory block must be erased before it can be re-programmed, TRIM improves performance by pro-actively erasing pages containing invalid data, allowing the SSD to write new data without first having to perform a time-consuming erase command.
  • newegg 2.5" to 3.5" Adapter Included The Chronos Series features a standard 2.5-inch form factor for compatibility with notebooks and select desktops. A 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch mounting bracket is included with the SSD for compatibility with standard hard drive mounting.

5 out of 5 eggsATTO Score Is Amazing

Pros: Very Fast and has not Failed

Cons: That I Could Not Have Afforded A Larger Capacity At the Time

Other Thoughts: Bought this just over a year ago and it has not disappointed. The ATTO benchmark transfer rates for Read and Write from the 256.0 mark to 8192.0 both go over 500MB. Small capacity SSD drives are very fast but unfortunately I need more space so I just purchased 2 Sandisk Ultra Plus 256GB drives from Newegg ($159.99 ea) and I hope that I don't come to miss this drive's performance.

4 out of 5 eggsDrive is great. Shipping not so much.

Pros: Great drive for the money.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The Super Eggsaver shipping was slooooooow. It's my own fault that I chose it so I'm not rating this drive based on that. I just wanted to mention it in case anyone else was thinking about using it.

I buy from newegg without even looking anywhere else, partly because of how fast I get things. I had never noticed Eggsaver shipping and didn't think much of it when I ordered. It ended up taking 7 days to get my order. It wasn't newegg's fault either; they shipped it the same day. Just something to be aware of if you need your order quickly.

4 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: I found the drive to be very fast. Boot times are definitely faster than the old HDD drives. Programs open faster all in all the computer works as expected.
Note the drive is great for most applications but won't be faster for everything.
So far the drive has been glitch free. I usually keep my PC running 24/7 and rarely turn it off. It's either in sleep mode or a family member is using it.
I also recommend setting these up as directed on a lot of the SSD forums out there it will save you some headaches down the road.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I think these drives are great if you are looking for a drive to boot and run your programs from.
Personally I do not trust them enough to go "all in" and store my personal file on a good old HDD. I have read too many horror stories regarding their failure rate. I take it as a reflection on how new this technology still is. Not to mention a few extra seconds for peace of mind is well worth not losing a few months’ worth of data, especially if you have digital pictures you want to keep!
My recommendation to anyone would be, if you are going to go all in with the SSD drives, do yourself a favor back up your entire drive on an HDD and update it weekly or at a minimum monthly it will save you a lot of heartache and headaches if your drive should fail. Norton or even Windows can do this for you. Sounds like a lot of work but you will thank yourself later if anything happens. At least with an HDD even if it goes bad you can have someone read the plates for you, with an SSD the information is just gone.

1 out of 5 eggsDied after not even 2 months!

Pros: It was what an SSD should be...

Cons: It DIED instantly after i shutdown to go to some errands with my wife and come home to it completely not functioning. I've tried a different PSU, different sata cables, different motherboard, different computer all together and NONE of the bios menus picked it up. I reset the bios and tried all kinds of settings the way they worked before and new settings now. I am an Ex-Army Computer Technician and now that im out i have my own computer business and ill tell ya that this was disappointing... For the price you pay its almost a $1 per gigabyte and it should be worth it. This one is getting replaced and its a shame that data cant even be salvaged because it wont boot or be recognized. My advice is to stay away from this until the manufacturer fixes these SSD's and lets everyone know that they have. This is unprofessional and in my opinion they should be taken off newegg's website due to the constant failure they are having.

1 out of 5 eggsDrive was smoking fast....for 10 months

Pros: Drive was fast....booted to windows desktop in under 15 seconds.

Cons: Failed after 10 months. Looking at the recent reviews, it looks like there was a bad batch. Gonna RMA this one.

5 out of 5 eggsSSD PWNS

Pros: Great Entry level SSD to get my newest build off the ground. Never settle for a HDD OS Drive with this price. With Mushkin's Awesome warrenty service, this is the best SSD for the $ IMO

Cons: none so far.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend 250g if you can afford it. 120 works for an operating drive and a few of your favorite games/programs with long load times. Still 250 would have been ideal.

5 out of 5 eggsGood drive

Pros: Very fast. Best upgrade you can do to a pc.
Low heat. let me cut some fans out of the pc.
Good snug cable sockets. Unlike some sata sockets out there.

Cons: the slot conversion bracket that comes with this works ok...

Other Thoughts: Only thing you could want is more space! But this alone is fine for an os drive.
