4 out of 5 eggsGreat, once you get a working set

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced Essentials 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model 997017

Pros: Fast & stable (assuming your modules aren't faulty); cheaper than other kits.

Cons: Half bad out of box.
Half of replacement order bad as well.
Faults confirmed by memtest86.

1 out of 5 eggsQuality Control lacking

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced Essentials 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model 997017

Pros: Cheap, worked for awhile, RMA Procedures work But....

Cons: Had one stick start throwing errors after six months, confirmed problem w/Memtest, RMA'd the pair. Received replacement pair in 7 days (good) but upon testing, one of the sticks failed memtest. Will try RMA on the failed stick only this time

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced Essentials 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model 997017

Pros: I added this extra memory to my system to max it out the board with windows 7 pro. can take up to 32 gigs so I maxed out the board. Have more then enough to do all my video editing. DVD and bluray discs. even thou I don't think I will ever use this much memory.

Cons: none that I know of

Other Thoughts: NONE

3 out of 5 eggsok when it works

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced Essentials 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model 997017

Pros: High capacity, low price

Cons: Cheap packaging great risk of bad memory due to static electricity, get the timing right on the sticks or they will not run, no overclocking at all.

Other Thoughts: I wish Muskin would give the packing just a bit more thought then a cheap plastic cover and paper backing, when I received the memory the modules was rattling around in the pack they could easily have been subject to static charges

1 out of 5 eggsTry these at your own risk...

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced Essentials 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model 997017

Pros: If there is a pro, I guess it would be... it is great when it works... I wouldn't know, though.

Cons: Ordered 3 kits (2 chips each = 6 chips).
Out of 6 chips, 5 were found to throw a bunch of errors using a host of different memory diagnostics.
RMA'd the whole bunch and will have to go with a different brand.

Cons: 1 of the 2 modules is faulty. Next stop is to request an RMA.

Other Thoughts: I thought mushkin was supposed to be a quality brand?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value for the Price

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced Essentials 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model 997017

Pros: Installed in a HP 8200 Elite CMT business desktop.

Booted right up, and all 16 GB recognized in addition to the 2 x 4 GB I already had in there. Now at 24 GB.

Memory Windows Experience Index (WEI) prior to installation of the Mushkin memory was 7.6. After installation and WEI refreshed, I am happy to report it is still at 7.6.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The package was easy to open compared to some other brands where you have to use a razor and carefully slit the package open, and then try to pop the memory out of the plastic retainers.

I just ordered another 16 GB to max out my PC's memory while DDR3 memory is cheap, and used a 10% off memory promo code I just received from NewEgg a few minutes ago. NewEgg is the best!

2 out of 5 eggsBad DIMM

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced Essentials 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model 997017

Pros: Seemed like a good deal.

Cons: One of the 2 modules was bad.

Other Thoughts: Happens with any brand sometime I guess, but Mushkin just moved down one notch in my impression of their reliability.
