5 out of 5 eggsRam

Pros: Bought to max out ram (32 gigs) in a cheap AMD VM server. The stuff just works, no issues

Cons: none

2 out of 5 eggsPoor QC

Pros: Cheapish, low profile heatsink

Cons: Consistently faulty in a way that leads to file corruption when copying files between drives. I RMA'd 3 sets in a row (all failed memtest) before getting tired of paying for return shipping.

5 out of 5 eggs16GB for i3 mITX build IVB

Pros: Nice price for 16GB kit - brought my 2-slot mITX mobo up to 16GB capacity. Had to get DDR3-1600 for my IVB i3.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Matched up with H77 mITX mobo and Samsung 830 SSD for a speedy build

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't pass Memtest86+

Pros: Fast advertised timings, good price

Cons: Installed on Intel DH77DF motherboard, and ran Memtest86+ at default timings. It consistently hit errors.

Other Thoughts: I switched to some Corsair XMS3 with the same motherboard and CPU - no errors after 50+ hours of testing

Manufacturer Response:

Greetings,

We apologize for the issues. Please get in touch with us at support@mushkin.com or 800.569.1868 for assistance in replacing this product.

Thanks!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: After RMA and receiving a new batch, the memory is running completely without issue, memtest4.20 reported a scant 8 errors, compared to the previous 1400+. Definitely got a bad stick or more, little hard to tell which one running quad-channel. Anyway much happier now.

Cons: Still don't like the marketing of 1333 ram as 1600. Running this ram without profile shows its true speed. Hence only 4 eggs.

5 out of 5 eggsFlawless

Pros: Plugs in and works with just about anything.

Bought 4 kits for 64 GB quad channel on an ASRock X79 Extreme6.

Cons: I like complaining about things, so I guess the fact that there is nothing here for me to complain about is a con in itself...

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great for me

Pros: Installed without a hitch
Ran Windows memory checker - no issues
Scores 7.7 with my Z77/i5-3570K in WEI performance test

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I like the understated look of the black heatsinks compared to others with high fins that would also get in the way of my CPU cooler.
I wanted the 9-9-9-24 modules, but they were specified as 1.6v in the 2x8GB size. These have 10-10-10-27 timings but are rated at 1.5v which matches my Z77 mobo specs and I didn't want to stress the system for no obvious real world benefits.
Also I have room to expand up to 32GB now and will probably use half of it as a Ramdisk.

As of 06/12/12 these are listed Out Of Stock, so I got them just in time. I'm sure there'll be more around soon though - at least I hope so.
I like the Mushkin brand in general, and their website is very helpful, especially with SSD firmware updates and tech support questions - I currently own three of their SSD's; no issues so far.

1 out of 5 eggsBad

Pros: Will re-review when I get another batch. Had high hopes for this. Mushkin changed?

Cons: BSODs right of the bat. Turned off XMP profile still BSOD.

Ran memtest, failed horribly.

Other Thoughts: Is there such a thing as Q&A these days, this is the second batch of bad memory I have gotten. Two for two not good odds :-(

What is this sillyness of calling profiled 1333 memory 1600? It seems to be the craze, everyone seems to be doing it. Pretty much seems like false advertising if you ask me.

5 out of 5 eggsOutrageously good.

Pros: 1- It's Mushkin. I've gone out of my way to use it whenever possible over the years, I've never had a single issue in over 10 years and around 80 sticks.
2 - it's gorgeous, with the understated black hearsinks, and it's very low profile so it doesn't get in the way of gigantic video cards.
3 - it overclocks likes a champ. I'm getting a 35% boost on a Gigsbyte UDR mobo with an i7 sandy bridge quad @ 40% over stock speed. No exotic cooling, no memory or video coolers, just a massive CPU cooler.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: The black heat spreaders reflect the purple LEDs in my Antec 900 beautifully and the tsil of my second 6990 sits overtop of the edge of sticks with no trouble. Anything with a silly gigantic (read: useless) heat spreader on it wouldn't fit.
