4 out of 5 eggsExceptional SSD

Pros: IT runs at advertised speeds. My hard drive was no longer the slowest component in my PC.

Cons: I had it for about 6 months or so then it would start to give boot issues. it wouldn't be detected In the bios wouldn't see it in boot order etc. Usually a reboot would fix this. until one day it just died.

Other Thoughts: Mushkin was very helpful with the replacement of this drive. since then I bought a Samsung EVO and this Mushkin drive is my application drive now.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It works. Its fast. No problems.

Cons: None really.

Other Thoughts: Still don't know if Solid State is worth all its up for. But this dive was easy to install and has had 0 problems in the 6 months i have had it. So still 5 eggs :)

1 out of 5 eggsBad Product

Pros: Good speed and good price (if it would work)

Cons: The device failed after ~1 year of standard use. It causes random blue screens or is not even recognized by the BIOS. Several people reported similar issues here on newegg and on other sites. I contacted Mushkin and opened several tickets on their website but did not get any reply. This isn't bad customer suport, their support is inexistent!
As there is no support I ignored the 'warranty void' sticker and opened the drive. It obviously is the product of very bad engineering (I'm an electrical engineer myself). The PCB contains botch wires and tape is used to keep traces on the board from being shorted by the aluminum case. Also the mounting studs of the connector are not soldered so it is unfirm and wiggles when you plug / unplug the cables.

Other Thoughts: I will never buy Mushkin products again!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive

Pros: This has been a great drive thus far. I have not had any problems running it as my boot drive in my laptop. Great quality for a good price at the time I bought it.

Cons: None that i can really think of other than cosmetic. If you had this drive in a case that you wanted to highlight your hardware, this might not be the drive for you.

Other Thoughts: This drive had not been "super fast" for me. I put this drive in an older laptop and I know for a fact that its running SATA II so I don't fault the drive one bit. But it still made an AMAZING difference on my laptop along with RAM upgrade as compared to my old 5200 RPM drive and only one Gig of Ram.

5 out of 5 eggsNICE!

Pros: -Light
-Cool
-Fast
-Strong Sata connection
-Comes with 2.5"->3.5" tray

Cons: not cheaper?

Other Thoughts: I purchased this unit to replace an OCZ which the sata connection literally snapped off while using the machine.
Is going to be paired (RAID 0) with a Samsung 840, but wanted to see its individual performance first.
The performance is outstanding and the installation was a "cake walk". Highly Recommended!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for me

Pros: Had nothing but problems to start out, but it turned out to be fixed by BIOS updates that came out a month after I got my motherboard.

Since then, I've had two of these running in RAID 0 without issue. I never got around to actually running any benchmarks, so I can't say the performance is 100% there, but I'm now quite used to near instant load times.

Cons: There's still an issue where one drive fails on boot every once in awhile. It's not very often, only requires a reboot and only seemed to happen when in RAID. Since this doesn't sound like it's the drive's fault, not going to take an egg off.

5 out of 5 eggsCompletely satisfied ( but a word of caution)

Pros: They seem very fast compared to a 7200 rpm HDD. My boot times are crazy fast (10-15 sec.) What I really appreciate the most is the moment you see your desktop, you can click a program and it loads instantly. Light weight and easy to install. Takes up very little space.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Beware...I have the Sabertooth x58 motherboard with Marvell controllers. The highest read/write speeds I can get out of them are 350/250 which is well below the advertised speeds of 500+ for both. So if you install these on 6gb ports using these controllers then don't expect to benefit more than that. Have tried a small handful of different versions of the drivers and no luck with any of them. I wish there were a resolve to this instead of having to buy a new motherboard.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome SSD For An Awesome Price

Pros: Speed, Quick Installation Into PC Case Or Into Laptops - Never seen such speed, even in the Win XP and 2000 days. Can't live without an SSD for windows anymore.
Never need to defrag, which is extremely helpful - many days have come and pass, having spent the whole day defragging a Traditional Hard Drive, now I can spend them either gaming or browsing the internet.
Also, never slows down, even when nearly full, which is awesome.
Very reliable, haven't run into a major issue yet.
Was originally worried about the whole maximum read/write limit on SSD tech, but haven't seen it yet.

Cons: Storage space. I know this is a expected limitation for SSDs, as the tech is still quite new, compared to ancient and time perfected HDD technology, though my free space always tends to drop from 20 GB to about 7 or so GB after cleaning it every week.

Other Thoughts: All-in-all, this Solid State Disk is pretty good for the price I paid, which was around $120 tops. I highly recommend this SSD to anyone on a modest budget, that needs an SSD.
For those that want to try an SSD, but are a little worried - don't be- I was, but after I bought this, my worries are gone, its fast, boots windows in a few seconds, and opens programs faster then a traditional Hard Drive.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed for third time

Pros: Mushkin has no problem sending advanced RMA, over and over.

Cons: Returning for the third time, once to newegg and 2nd to mushkin, worked for 6 months at longest, didn't even manage to get windows installed before returning first time. Zero reliability, will not be buying muskin in the future.
