4 out of 5 eggsQA Issues

Pros: Tiny
Fast
Better value than ssd options from lenovo
Free return shipping

Cons: The first unit was defective. It was recognized by the system but couldn't get through installing windows 7 x64 without stalling indefinitely.

Other Thoughts: First drive was defective. Does anyone test their products before sending them out the door anymore?

The replacement unit has been working without issue as the system drive for just over three months now.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Drive

1 out of 5 eggsWhat! No screws?

Pros: Can't tell yet.

Cons: Considering how difficult it is to source M2 x 3 screws locally, I don't see why any product that requires them wouldn't include them. Don't assume that the motherboards should already include them. I may end up spending $10 to get two little 6 cent screws.

5 out of 5 eggsFAST

Pros: Stupid Fast

makes a laptop more versatile.

Cons: could be cheaper?

Other Thoughts: Im going from a highend water cooled Desktop to a mid range Alienware laptop & knew there were going to be some cons.

fortunately with the M14x R2 supporting a mSata slot (with RAID) those cons were considerably cut in 1/2.

I can now run my system exactly how i ran my Desktop. im running the mSata SSD for the OS along side a 7200rpm spindle HDD for Docs and games. which still allows me to use the ODD slot for a DVDrom!

this mSata SSD is very fast and im getting a 7.8 in WEI, not to mention seeing close to 500MB/s in SSD benchmarks. i would absolutely recommend this upgrade to any laptop that supports mSata! as in 9/10 times this will allow the best of both worlds, Speed (SSD) & Large amounts of storage (HDD) were normally you would normally only be able to choose one drive and have to pick between a small but fast SSD or large but slower HDD... :(

P.S. i tried IRST (Intel rapid storage technology) and wasn't too impressed but YMMV.

5 out of 5 eggsSlick, and good tech support

Pros: Small and fast, works very well, when it works (see cons). Overall I am very pleased with this little guy, although now I do wish I had gone for the 120GB version.

Cons: First Drive was faulty (but see other thoughts).

Other Thoughts: As the con states, the first drive was faulty, and caused two laptops to blue screen, lock up, etc. However, tech support was very nice and RMA'd it for me (and since it had been less than 30 days, they paid for shipping both ways). Five business days later, I have my replacement and I'm rockin.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked 1st time

Pros: Easy install. Installed on a Gigabyte Z77 m/b so I could check out Intel Rapid Storage Tech. Snap it in and boot it up. Used Gigabyte EZ App to enable RAID since I didn't want to reinstall Win 7. It worked as advertised. Boot up times are around 20 seconds. Not to mention it has a cool red LED that blinks as it is used. :) BTW IRST can only use up to 64g so I didn't see any use buying a larger one. Made in USA .....what is the world coming to?

Cons: Price I thought was a little high for only a 60 g SSD.

Other Thoughts: Would like to know if I should still defrag my HDD. Since this ssd is in RAID 0 with a HDD when using Intel Rapid Storage Tech. Briefly searched the Intel and Mushkin sites but didn't find any info.

3 out of 5 eggsTriple Check System Compatiblity

Pros: Looks good, should work great, and good value.

Cons: Does not work when the mini pcie slot in my notebook.

Other Thoughts: Triple check that your notebook's mini pcie slot will support a msata disk drive in it. My Cleo1P15HM1/GAVP6 seems to not, so I don't have much use for the device.
