4 out of 5 eggsRAM Pic is wrong

Pros: Great RAM! Mushkin is one of the best, and these SO-DIMMs are solid, and a great value. I am upgrading Dell laptops for our company. If you are using a 64 bit version of Windows, it will add noticeable improvement to your laptop, particularly when multitasking. We have about 30 Dell Latitude Core i5 Laptops, of various age. See Cons, below though!

Cons: Due to the various Intel Core i5 variations, I have see problems when using these 2x4GB SO-DIMMs on early Core i5 Dell Latitude laptops. The RAM is auto detected and will work, but the user complained of instability and when I removed this RAM and put the original RAM back in, it was stable, but slower. Nicholas T. wrote a review that is correct. These have half the number of RAM chips on the circuit boards then what is in the picture. This reduces cost, but I believe that the older chip-sets cannot handle the speed, or higher density memory chips.

Other Thoughts: Lucky for me, I have a lot of Dell Laptops for the company, so I just just used them in newer Dell Laptops and did not have to return them.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cheap laptop RAM

Pros: Put it into my Acer Laptop (Came with 4 GB). It worked right away at 1600 MHz.
Has lasted me for over a year now (Purchased in 2013)
It was $45 when I bought it

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Yeah, the first thing I did to my laptop before turning it on was upgrading the RAM on it. Improved my memory speed over the stock single 4 GB stick.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great In My Pavilion G7

Pros: I put this RAM in my HP Pavilion G7 (G7-1076NR) and it worked perfectly fine. It is faster than stock and has overall boosted the system performance.

Cons: The price of $80.00 isn't too attractive but I did want this RAM.

1 out of 5 eggs1 Defective stick, Many attempts at RMA, no response from Mushkin

Pros: Don't know: I can only use 1 stick

Cons: Arrived with one stick defective. I didn't get it installed in time to deal directly with Newegg :(, so now I'm at Mushkin's mercy. Website troubles, a customer "support" number that was never answered, and STILL no response or ticket number for my RMA.

Other Thoughts: I've finally found an e-mail address for customer support. HOPEFULLY, I will be able to soon speak with a human with some compassion on their customers, not just a glitchy website.

2 out of 5 eggsFaulty out of package

Pros: Probably a good product, but one stick was faulty and I didn't get it returned in time. I'm sure this stuff happens, but I just expect things to work out of the box.

Cons: 1 Stick faulty. I didn't get this RMA'd in time, so Newegg didn't have a chance to correct it. I'm trying to work through Mushkin to get a replacement.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great memory with nice timings. Absolute rock solid memory. No issues whatsoever.

Cons: Could use a heatspreader even though memory runs cool enough without. Make them look cooler though.

1 out of 5 eggsMemory density is not as shown in the item's picture

Pros: Fast memory according to the specs and a decent price

Cons: The memory I received is not what was shown in the picture for this item. The memory shown in the picture shows 16 memory chips per module. The memory I received has only 8 memory chips per module. The computer I intended to put this memory into doesn't support memory densities higher than 256mb/chip so because of this incorrect picture I am left with memory that is useless to me. Now to start the RMA process, hopefully Newegg doesn't make me pay return shipping for a misrepresented product...

5 out of 5 eggsGreat, Stable RAM

Pros: I have own several kits of Mushkin Enhanced RAM over the years. They always run at the advertised speeds and clocks. CPU-Z says 9-9-9-28 @ 800 MHz. They have been incredibly reliable and I have always been satisfied.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have never overclocked the Mushkin kits that I have owned. So I have no idea how they perform when you increase the speed. Also, I am using this kit in the Samsung Series 7 touchscreen ultra book, running Windows 8 Pro.

2 out of 5 eggsSingle Channel? RMA'd

Pros: Great timings for the RAM and fairly inexpensive

Cons: My laptop's (K55N) BIOS only saw one stick of RAM when i installed both sticks from the kit. Windows 7 Pro 64 saw all 8Gigs but said only 4Gigs was usable. CPU-Z said RAM was running in Single Channel.

If i left the laptop's original 4Gig stick in and used one of this kit's sticks the BIOS and Windows recognized all 8Gigs and CPU-Z reported it running in Dual Channel

Other Thoughts: Hopefully it was just a faulty kit. RMA was a breeze. Just waiting for the replacement sticks to arrive
