1 out of 5 eggsNot good for Intel NUC

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: Bought this mSATA drive to put into an Intel NUC (DC3217IYE). I wanted it to run Newznab and Playon. Win7x64 host, Ubuntu via VMware workstation running Newznab (update 6 newsgroups every hour). Average CPU load 35%. The Mushkin mSATA drive began showing issues from the installation of the O/S. Within a 3 weeks the Mushkin mSATA drive began messing up. The machine would freeze, Blue screen, become non-responsive. I RMA'd the drive and set it up again. Well, the RMA'd drive lasted a week. Im done with Mushkin. They got ~$190 from me.. but no more. BE ADVISED! With Mushkin you have to PAY for RMA Cross-shiping. I bought a Crucial mSATA drive and have had NO problems at all. In fact, I like my little NUC now.

Beware. Mushkin isnt as 'L33T' as the aura.

I lhave nothing against Mushkin. Just my experience with them. It was bad. I will never buy another Mushkin product again.

Other Thoughts: Pass this drive up.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Acer W700

Pros: This thing is exactly what I needed to boost my Acer W700 Windows 8 tablet above the paltry 64gbs that it came with. So far it has worked like a charm!

Cons: None. This thing works great!

Other Thoughts: It was a little tricky to get this installed, but that is consequence of the design of the Acer W700, not this product.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressed

Pros: Very FAST!! Installed in an Asus EP121 Slate - and it boots Win 8 in a few seconds.

Cons: I can't think of any.

Other Thoughts: I usually don't write reviews. I don't like to "endorse" things. Like most of us, I stewed and read all of the reviews - and finally held my breath and took the plunge. I'm VERY happy with the result.

4 out of 5 eggsA safe choice.

Pros: I got this drive when it was on sale making it one of the best price performance deals out there. There wasn't any information on the difference between the Atlas and the Atlas Deluxe, aka the -DX version of the drive but with a bit of internet research I dicovered the difference is that this version uses synchronous memory and the DX uses toggle based memory. Each has their pros and cons but overall I believe toggle offers the best performance.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I installed this into a Lenovo X230 that already had an SSD installed as it's primary drive. This drive installed into the mSATA slot no problem and was recognized by Win7 upon boot.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Installed as boot drive in Lenovo T520. Made me feel like l had a brand new laptop. Booting this laptop is much faster. I work in a corporate environment and even with all of the additional overhead, the laptop boots and is usable in around 30 seconds. I used to press the power button, take off my coat and go get a cup of coffee. Drive fits in the wide area network card (cellular) located under the keyboard. Battery life is better. I’m now using my original drive to store VMWare virtual machines. I highly recommend upgrading to a SSD. It’s like having two monitors. Once you have it, you’ll never go back.

Cons: None to date. I've been using the laptop hard for five months with no problems.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Happy

Pros: Good performance
Enough diskspace for general computing
The best combination of performance and price in its class (240/256GB)

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I bought this as a replacement for a 120GB SanDisk U100 SSD in a friend's Samsung Series 9 NP900X4C Ivy Bridge Ultrabook. The SanDisk is well-known for having sub-par performance, and it is simply much too small.

I used Acronis TrueImage to clone the SanDisk in the ultrabook to the Mushkin connected to an external USB controller. I kept the non-Windows partitions (system, recovery and diagnostics) their original size and let TrueImage expand the Windows partition to claim the extra space. Once that was done I opened the ultrabook and swapped the Mushkin into it.

Windows 7 booted right up, installed a new disk driver, and requested one more reboot. After that boot I re-ran the Windows Experience Index assessment, the disk score went from 6.9 to 7.8. Not quite as fast as the Samsung SSD in my ultrabook, and a huge improvement on the SanDisk.

3 out of 5 eggsNot much to say...

Pros: Mushkin quality, small form factor, low power usage.

Cons: No mounting screw included and sequential read speeds (non-cached) are about 50% slower than SATA-3 counterparts (I have both in my laptop).

Other Thoughts: I was disappointed with the read speed but it's still a lot better than mechanical hard drives.
