Mushkin Enhanced Atlas Series MKNSSDAT120GB-V mSATA 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Really very fast. I'm not sure there is anything much faster. Windows 7 boots up in seconds. I put this as the boot drive in an Intel NUC box HTPC and it works very well.

Cons: This one is the replacement for the one I RMAed because it died after two hours - stone dead. I knocked the rating down one egg because of that.

Other Thoughts: This kind of SSD in a mSATA package may be the future for mass storage in a PC. Total silence and blinding speed - can't beat that.

Pros: Fit perfectly in my Lenovo T430 and quite a bit cheaper than having come with the laptop. Boots super fast and it is so small, great price. Never want to go back.

Cons: Haven't had any experience with SSDs before, so I'm assuming there is always bigger better faster.

Other Thoughts: Had problems installing it originally because of the Secure Boot with Win8 Lenovo. After turning secure boot off (getting no help from Lenovo on why it wouldn't work), then used the recovery disks (after requesting them). Everything installed great. I kept the other hard drive in for basic data storage and use this guy for the OS. Also with the Lenovo laptops the guy gets connected to where the graphics card would be. This slot is only SATA II which is fine, but SATA III would be (negligibly) faster.

Pros: my motherbd Z77E-ITX has a msata slot on bottom of bd. Mounted and loaded win7 , no issues , very fast and small, no noticable heat .

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: next laptop I purchase must have msata slot so I will buy another one for it.

Pros: Super easy to install once I found a screw within my laptop I could scavenge, small size, and immense performance.

Cons: Only negative is due to my Lenovo Y500 needing to be coaxed to recognize this drive through BIOS to install Win8 cleanly

Other Thoughts: Make sure to read up on forums for help if you have a Lenovo Y500

Pros: Easy to install. No issues with motherboard or Win 7 recognizing it.

Cons: None really so far.

Other Thoughts: I have been running this as my OS drive for the past two months and so far it had been rock solid. Win 7 takes about 15-20 secs to boot. Updates are a flash. Have had no issues with it at all. Can't wait till they get bigger capacities at lower prices.

Other Thoughts: Not "as fast as advertised" on Z77E-ITX because that slot is only SATA II.

Pros: Installed easily into the ASROCK Z77E-ITX board. Saw it instantly and installed windows 7 with ease. 120GB in this form factor is really amazing and cheap.

Cons: not as fast as advertised. I get 120MB Read and about 80MB write.

Pros: Installed in Lenovo Y560 msata slot. Using as OS drive (Win 8 Pro), and frequently used programs. No problems after 1 week.

Cons: A little slower read speed than similar DX series (but still fast.)
111 GB usable space once formatted (pretty normal, but an FYI)

Other Thoughts: I was able to install in my Lenovo Y560, and use as boot drive for Windows 8. Copied over my system files and formatted my HD to use as a data drive. No problems, does exactly what I wanted it to do.

Pros: Fast, almost 4 times larger than stock drive.

Cons: Acer w500 won't wake from sleep without crashing and reboot. Support has not replied to me in about a week. Sleep works fine with smaller stock drive. Docked 3 stars because sleep mode on a tablet is fairly important for battery life.

Other Thoughts: Running Windows 8 Professional with manufacturer supplied drivers. Kind of wishing I had bought one of the competing brands in hope that everything would work correctly. Tested Win8 on the stock drive before ordering to make sure everything worked, thought it would be a safe upgrade and now left to troubleshoot on my own.
